Just BOOK with Ângelo
"To say that Ângelo went above and beyond would be an understatement. This was EASILY the best tour we have ever been on in all our travels. Ângelo was kind, attentive, knowledgeable and truly made us feel like we were traveling with a local. He showed us little ways we could avoid taking stairs (we actually very rarely walked uphill, which is surprising), gave us recommendations about great restaurants (and which ones we could skip), and shared the truly rich history of Portugal. He encouraged us to have a conversation, ask any questions, and made us feel like we really had a friend in the beautiful city of Lisbon :) he shared so much about this history of Lisbon — going back thousands of years all the way up to current times— and how the city and country have changed. This did not feel like a history lesson, however! He weaved stories beautifully into whatever we were talking about. Please see this as a sign to BOOK your tour with Ângelo! "To mention, i was one hour too early - my mistake. He was not far away and agreed to come immediately. What a service! The tour itself was really a pleasure. Good variation between history, culture, we tasted the best pasteis de nata in the city, etc. The pace was up to us to determine. We also have so many tips from Marisa for our remaining time here: what to see, where to eat, and even where to buy tinned fish to take back home :) Marisa was very responsive when we were designing our tour before the trip. She made great suggestions and was very flexible and accommodating. On the day she delivered a perfect mix fitting our interests. We highly recommend going on a tour with Marisa. "My one on one walking tour with Joao was first rate. He started the tour asking me what I was interested in so as to customize the tour to my needs. He listened and absolutely delivered! We walked the various neighborhoods and I learned much about Lisbon and Portugual. Joao was a great guide but he was also great to converse with as we traversed down the winding streets and reveals that are all over the city. I highly recommend Joao to anyone who wants a great guide and a great conversation along the way. The time and the walking flew by. I saw so much and learned so much.
