"Marina took is to some very quaint local places in Greece for our food tastings.
Along the way we stopped at various places where she gave us a little history of the church or building where we stopped.
Last stop was for orange cake or pie as some call it. DON’T leave Greece without trying the orange cake with vanilla ice cream, scrumptious!"
"Marina met us right on time and had changed the meeting point to our hotel as she said we were in a great area. Our first stop ws at a wonderful restaurant where we had outstanding food paired with 3 super Greek wines, something I had requested. We next walked a short way to the \"deli\" of our dreams. We got to meet both owners and sat down to a feast of meat and cheese with a Greek salad. One of the cheeses was absolutely spectacular and everything was extremely tasteful. Next came a wine bar where we tried 3 white wines that were extremely varied in style. Marina is very knowledgable about wine and answered all my q1uestions and was very helpful with suggestions. She then walked us back to our hotel. This was a perfect outing as we wanted to focus on both wine and food. Highly recommended. Thanks again"
"Received a message from Marina the day before the experience saying that her partner Nelly would be running the tour in her absence. Wow we were so lucky. Both my partner and I instantly hit it off with Nelly and knew from the moment we met we were in for a good experience. Nelly was knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and was very passionate about food and her home of Athens. We didn’t feel like we had a stranger showing us around it was like we were catching up with an old friend. So many laughs. So much food (almost too much food) and wine. Really couldn’t have asked for a better last night in Athens and it really redeemed the city for us (having been ripped off by a taxi driver the previous night). We showed Nelly some photos we had been taking on our holiday making fun of “insta” people and Nelly went out of her way to take us to the 2nd most instagramable place in Athens (even though the tour should have been well over by this point) and helped us take some funny photos. The night ended with us adding each other on Facebook. Even now post Athens and in other countries Nelly has been giving me advice! Feel very blessed to have had Nelly take us around Athens and would highly recommend this experience and hope you’re lucky enough to get Nelly as your host. "

"Relaxing evening walk with awesome food recommendations for downtown Athens ranting from street style to gourmet, we were stuffed after the hearty but yummy souvlaki.
This is my second time back to Athens after 5 years, and I am excited to explore dishes with a more fusion and lighter modern twist.
We sussed out a couple spots during our remaining days in Athens and it was fantastic!

"The evening food tour with marina was the highlight of our Athens stay. Marina has brought us closer to the city and especially the Greek cuisine. Although we already know many Greek dishes, she was able to surprise us with some new insights. Her valuable tips also brought us culinary highlights the next day. "I contacted Marina to arrange a custom tour of Athens on my arrival day to the city. Essentially, I wanted to blend an intro tour along with some street food and a wine tasting. Marina ended up planning exactly what I was hoping for!
Starting off in the center of the city, she gave me an overview of the central neighborhoods. Along the way, we stopped in a few places for traditional snacks and finished at a tasting she had arranged at a wine bar, where I was able to try 4 very different and wonderful Greek wines paired with cheeses and lamb prosciutto. I enjoyed the wine bar so much that I returned the following night for more! Marina also gave me a bunch of other suggestions for places and things to try during my time in Athens.
If you're really into food and wine, there cannot be a better guide in Athens than Marina! Thank you so much!"
