Best things to do in Greece

  • Insular Beauty In The Heart Of Athens

Insular Beauty In The Heart Of Athens

A time-capsuled gem lies in the shadow of Acropolis. Anafiotika is a scenic neighborhood which climbs up the Rock of Acropolis. It came to life after some construction workers from the island of Anafi built their houses there. This is why this area resembles a Greek island. The current residents keep the buildings as they used to be in an attempt to preserve an atmosphere from a past era. Anafiotika could be labeled as the most surprising area in Athens. It is not every day that you see an island background in the center of a capital. Anafiotika is worth your visit!

      A tour tailored to YOU

"Our tour was perfect. John tailored it to my husband's exact preferences (a blend of Greek mythology and architecture - but also so much more!) and was always checking if we wanted more or less info on any particular topic. In a short space of time, we learnt so much. His depth of historical knowledge is something you'd find hard to rival. Informative, fun, courteous, I really can't say enough good things. John went out of his way to make sure we had a fantastic time; and we did!"

      Wow, Markella is the best!

"Markella had good reviews and I picked her because she is a licensed tour guide (only licensed guides can go into the Acropolis to give tours.) But my family of five (with two teens and a pre-teen) was blown away by what a fantastic guide she was. She really maximized our efficiency in the museum and in the Acropolis itself, and she was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and kind. Plus, she kept us all interested for the whole 3 hours! When she finished, my family kept commenting to me about how wonderful she was. I STRONGLY recommend booking with Markella. "

      Review about Ioannis

"We had an amazing time. He was so knowledgeable, fun, engaging, had all kinds of pearls about the Greek culture and people. We learned so much. The tastings were lovely, and really gave us an idea of what typical Greeks eat, not just what is in restaurants. He taught us about Greek history, politics, modern day everyday life, and food. It was a wonderful introduction to Greece."

      Great Tour with Guide

"We matched up with Ms. Vasiliki for our walking tour. She was an awesome guide who was very attentive to our interest. She also went out of her way to offer suggestions beyond the tour. For the tour she took us to great places to include the local market and several shops and restaurants. She is very well liked and welcomed by the people we visited so her reputation is well deserved. We'd recommend Vasiliki to be your guide anytime. Thanks Vasiliki!!"

      Amazing guide- so knowledgeble!

"Alex gave us an amazing tour of the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum. Make no mistake about it, it’s quite a climb up the hill and we had some trepidation about it. But Alex paced us so there were plenty of chances to catch our breath as he talked about what we were seeing and all the history. Next thing we knew, we’d made it to the top. Amazing view and amazing history. So glad we did the trip, and even happier we did it with Alex- we really enjoyed our time with him!"

      Great tour at perfect pace

"Dionysus was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about the history and monuments but also peppered the tour with anecdotes and facts/trivia that made the information memorable. He was also very open about discussing present day Athens. He didn’t walk to fast or to slow. Definitely adapted to our pace. He even sent us recommendations for the neighborhood we are staying in and obviously listened to what we were interested in. Highly recommend."

A Great Day outside of Athens

"Ioannis is truly a 'Master Guide'! He is a man of many talents and spending the day with him was like seeing an old friend for a long chat about many different things. We enjoyed being out of the city for the day and the southern coastline was beautiful. The Temple of Poseidon was impressive and definitely worth the trip. We stopped for dinner on the way back to the city and saw an amazing sunset over a marina. We were two couples traveling together. A memorable day was had by all. We highly recommend him to you. "
