Best things to do in Greece

  • Insular Beauty In The Heart Of Athens

Insular Beauty In The Heart Of Athens

A time-capsuled gem lies in the shadow of Acropolis. Anafiotika is a scenic neighborhood which climbs up the Rock of Acropolis. It came to life after some construction workers from the island of Anafi built their houses there. This is why this area resembles a Greek island. The current residents keep the buildings as they used to be in an attempt to preserve an atmosphere from a past era. Anafiotika could be labeled as the most surprising area in Athens. It is not every day that you see an island background in the center of a capital. Anafiotika is worth your visit!

      Unique and fun tour!

"My friend and I LOVED the tour with Manos. It was exactly what we wanted - something non-touristy where we really learned about Athens culture (today and in the past). Manos was warm and funny, answered all our questions with ease, and he really knows Athens inside and out. His knowledge is impressive. He gave great restaurant recommendations as well. 10/10, no notes! We highly recommend!"

      Amazing tour of Acropolis

"Arianna guided us on a tour of the acropolis Hill and the acropolis Museum. Her knowledge of the history and architecture of the Acropolis is astounding. Over the course of five hours she was never at a loss for interesting descriptions and historical background of the things we were seeing. She happily and thoroughly answered every question that we had and she was able to keep our teenagers engaged the entire time. She is tireless and very professional. Highly recommended."

"We were on the Mythology tour with John, and it was a highlight of our time in Athens. He kept the tour fun, engaging, and highly informative. The pacing was great, he made modifications for what we were interested in, and kept us entertained. My 70-year-old parents raved about it when it was over, and my 14 year old was all smiles. Yanni made Athens more than memorable

"My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a cruise that ended in Athens. With just 3 and 1/2 days to take it in we elected private tours of the various sites. We chose Ioannis, the funny lawyer as our guide for 4 tours, committing ourselves to one guide. Best decision we could have made because not only did we enjoy the sites which we'll remember for a long time, but we made a friend who we now call Yanni. He took us not only to the sites we wanted to see but gave great care for the two senior citizens he befriended. As such he modified according to our stamina. We ate together at restaurants filled with locals, not tourists and learned about the Greek food and eating style and tasted delicacies we'd have never ordered on our own. We felt like Greeks among friends and now have memories more vivid than had we not met Yanni and allowed him to make those memories. "
