"We spent a beautiful afternoon in Athens with John- we had asked to do an "off the beaten path tour" of Athens to get a sense of the city without the crowds and John delivered beautifully! We walked through side alleys full of beautiful restaurants, high end thrift stores, bakeries, coffee shops and more. We are a very curious group and thoroughly enjoyed Johns wealth of knowledge including Greek history, local lore and current events. We explored parts of the city we would not have found on our own and got a true local taste of the city. Highlight was the farmers markets, where locals shop for produce, seafood and meats. A very special afternoon we highly recommend - five stars!!"
"John is a fantastic person with extensive knowledge of Athens , Greek mythology and archaeology. He was very accommodating. I hate to give bad reviews. However, our visit was limited to local fish market , some of the spice market and a lot of talk about Greek mythology and language. He was late to the meeting point. We really didn’t see much for walking more than 3 hours and spending more than 300 dollars . I can’t say that it broadened our horizon about Athen and it definitely didn’t show us secret places that tourists would not see. We may have had better luck with other tours! "

She was knowledgeable and interesting and kept the whole group listening and going even after a very long day.
