Markella is very knowledgeable of all periods of Greek history and has lots of stories to tell about the Parthenon and surrounding buildings and how the history links with the buildings and the archeological finds. She covered the Greek gods, the battle of Marathon, Persian wars, the Spartans and ancient Athenians, Roman emperor Hadrian and much more. Really interesting. A great walking tour of Athens
"We are a family of 5 with young adult children and we thoroughly enjoyed Alex's walking tour of Athens. He was extremely knowledgeable about both ancient and modern Greece and was very patient with all our questions. Alex was also great in recommending some local taverna's for lunch and dinner as well as some great tips on when to visit the monuments with the least amount of crowds. Thanks Alex for a great tour. Ioannis was wonderful; as he was not only knowledgeable and loves his home city of Athens, we could tell he loves traveling and helping tourists to enjoy Athens- and all the highlights and “hidden gems” he pointed out. While the tour was set for a specific timeframe, Ioannis went above and beyond and allowed for breaks for one member of our group who was medically fragile requiring a slower tour… and he allowed time for us sit down for midday refreshing drinks and a snack. He particularly shared all he knew about the history of Athens and the better restaurants that we would’ve otherwise not known about. "Our tour off the beaten path in Athens with Thomas was fun and educational. We walked through at least four neighborhoods. He speaks excellent English. He’s exceptionally knowledgeable about history, culture and Greek personalities real and fictional in film. I liked his flexibility to follow our interests. His route planning was spot on. He used our pre-tour preference form to craft the tour, notably avoiding a genre of sites we didn’t want to visit. His familiarity with niche, delicious and quintessential Greek eateries
that we would never find on our own, is another plus for hiring Thomas.
