"Markella was an excellent guide for our tour of the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. She not only shared key historical anecdotes and key facts; she also did a great job with the wide range of questions from adults and 5 kids/tweens/teens alike. Markella went out of her way to make things fun and engaging for the range of ages (9-15 years old for the kids), including having activities that would help make the history come alive for them. She allowed the 9 year old to act as her aide to share his knowledge of Greek mythology, which he particularly enjoyed. Markella also checked in with the adults to ask if we thought a snack stop was needed for the kids during the transition from the Acropolis to the museum. When the kids’ energy was flagging, she pulled a couple of rabbits from her hat with key features from the museum that they particularly enjoyed. All of the adults (there were 4 of us) really enjoyed Markella’s breadth of knowledge and appreciated gaining her perspectives on the excellent design of the museum, all of which enhanced our experience. "

"It was a little surprising to travel half way around the world and find a kindred spirit, but I think that is one of John’s gifts. He knows how to connect with people and then use that connection to share his vast knowledge of all things Greek including mythology, history, culture and cuisine. He guided us for two days and we learned so much, but more importantly we experienced Athens on another level. He took us to places we would have never found on our own and even if we did we would not have access. My daughters are particularly interested in mythology and he made learning come to life. He also takes great pictures! We will treasure the memories of moments shared for years to come. We decided to book with John based on the reviews of others, and now we are adding our own review. "Alex gave us a fantastic tour of the Acropolis museum & site. We were with our 3 teenage children & we really enjoyed it. We started in the museum which I would recommend as it’s laid out to mirror the actual site & he spent lots of time with us there explaining the different buildings and interesting artefacts & telling us some v entertaining myths associated. He is obviously extremely knowledgeable but with a very light & entertaining style which made the tour v relaxed. He then brought us through the site itself and nicely reminded us & brought together whet we had learnt & seen in the museum which really brought the ruins to life. He was extremely patients and gave us lots of time & we even had time to stop for coffees and ice creams and a lovely chat about Athenian life between the museum & the site. Thanks again Alex 😀"

"Costas was very easy to communicate with before the tour; he met us promptly at our prearranged meeting point. The tour of the Acropolis included an initial 2hrs in the Acropolis Museum, during which Costas took us through the history of the site and proved to be incredibly well informed on every aspect; he then took us up on to the slopes of the Acropolis for an hour to show us the real thing. Both parts of the tour knitted together perfectly and we left with a feeling that we had been fully immersed in Greek and Athenian history. Thank you Costas "

"Eleni lead my family, including 2 18 year olds and 2 16 year olds to see important and interesting places in the areas around the Acropolis and the plaka. She was knowledgeable and interesting and kept the whole group listening and going even after a very long day. At the end, she found us a couple of restaurants that might work and we ended our evening with a great dinner. I highly recommend touring with Eleni. Additionally, she is very flexible!"

"Ioannis was great! We had a personalized tour experience with him. He asked what we were doing afterwards, and we told him the Acropolis, so he designed our tour to end close the Acropolis. He also recommended a restaurant for lunch that had our favorite baklava of the trip! For our actual tour, he showed us around and gave us the history of all the ruins as well as a few secret bars/restaurants that had great ambience (one had a fantastic view). He answered all of our questions, taught us, and took pictures for us. We highly recommend Ioannis!"

"Ioannis was the perfect guide. His initial greeting was gracious and welcoming. I had written to him before the tour to inform him that I required a slow pace and occasional rest stops. He crafted the perfect walking tour for these old bones. It was clear from his commentary that he loved his country and he loved showing it off to visitors.
