Visit The Highest Coffee Shop In the World

If you are fond of Starbucks, then you should not miss visiting the Starbucks at Taipei 101. Considered the highest Starbucks in the world, the coffee shop is located at the 35th floor. But unlike other Starbucks where you can simply walk-in and order your cup of coffee, getting into this branch is an adventure in itself. There are no signboards available and you cannot find any information from any travel guidebook.

Because of the popularity of the coffee shop, a reservation is needed in advance. Your local guide can arrange to reserve a seat for you so you can experience having a cup of coffee with the best views of Taipei.

  • The inside of the Long Shan Temple with all the lampoons lit

Relive History at Long Shan Temple and Let a Bird Tell Your Fortune

Of the various temples in Taipei, Long Shan is probably the least mainstream and a hidden gem. However, this is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the daily religious life of the locals. The temple is a fusion of modernity and tradition. It was built during the 5th Year of the Qing Dynasty, and thus, it’s the perfect place to relive the ancient history.

But one of the most interesting things to do at the temple is to have a bird tell your fortune. You'll see birds hopping along the tables choosing from the various picture cards that will indicate one's luck. You can also give it a try if you want to experience something different from the usual things to do in Taipei. Getting a bird to tell your fortune is a popular tradition in Taiwan and your local guide can share more interesting facts and stories about this unusual tradition.

  • A local guide serving Taiwanese food to a group of tourists

Join a Cooking Class That Includes a Tour of the Local Market

Most of these cooking lessons include a free tour at the local fresh produce market. During the tour, your local guide will introduce you to the various local produce of Taiwan and some other seasonal foods.

After the market tour, the hands-on cooking lesson will start, which will normally take place at the kitchen of one of the locals. Depending on the cooking classes that you will book, you are free to choose the recipe that you want to learn. The classes will require visiting the house of a local, which makes for a fun and more authentic experience.

    Review about Judy

"Judy and David made this an absolutely unforgettable experience! As someone new to street photography, I couldn't have asked for better guides and teachers. They were patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing their craft — by the end of the tour, I felt like I had a whole new way of seeing the world through a lens. What really set this tour apart was exploring the historic neighborhoods of Taipei that I never would have discovered on my own. These hidden gems are so easy to overlook as a visitor, and having Judy and David lead the way made the experience feel authentic and deeply personal. If you're looking for a tour that combines culture, history, and a hands-on creative skill, look no further. This is a must-do in Taipei. I left with beautiful photos, a newfound love for street photography, and memories I'll treasure for years to come. Thank you so much, Judy and David — you truly went above and beyond!"

An engaging tour with the amazing June!

"June was a phenomenal guide. In the "10 tastings of Taipei" tour, we were able to try dumplings, potstickers, classic Hakka comfort food, Taiwanese teas, scallion pancakes, a variety of fried foods, bah-uân, pineapple cakes, and other yummy goods. In addition to "VIP access" to some hot local spots, each food was accompanied with a historical or cultural anecdote. We learned so much! As someone who not only loves food, but also the story surrounding it, I found June to be an incredible host. We would recommend her to anyone! Thank you June!"

    Caring, kind and intelligent

"I have travelled many places in this wonderful world. I have had the great fortune to meet many tour guides. You cannot find a private tour guide that is more caring, intelligent, knowledgeable and kind than Daphne. She is a 5 star guide. If you want to have a private tour that takes you to places that you won’t find on a group tour. If you like to laugh and share stories about what you find interesting, choose Daphne. When we go back to Taiwan, we will hire her again. "

    amazing

"I'm so glad I was able to do this photo tour with Judie and David!! they were so kind and attentive. We had a wonderful time together, and the tour was fantastic. I wouldn't necessarily have dared to take certain photos without them, so I'm really happy. David taught me and helped me develop my photography skills, while Judie shared some traditions and stories about Taipei and Taiwanese people. It was great, and I highly recommend it! Thanks again to you both!"

Highlight of our trip! Food and history

"My husband and I are so happy we decided to book the 3 hour top 10 tastings of Taipei tour with Garen- it was the highlight of our stay. Garen took us to so many amazing food stops and we were able to try both foods I was looking forward to trying and ones that I would never have known to try (even with lots of research). She is warm, friendly, informative and passionate about Taiwan. We learned so much (and much more than the typical free walking tours we do in our travels). It was definitely worth the price. She also took great pictures of us along the way and answered all of our questions. We loved how the tour was tailored to what we were interested in and had not tried yet. If in doubt, definitely book this!"

    True local experience

"If you’re heading to Taipei, you absolutely have to book a tour with June. She took us through the Dongmen neighborhood, pairing incredible local food with fascinating historical facts about the city. Her energy is infectious and her knowledge of the city and country is impressive. For a real-deal Taiwanese experience that feels like exploring with a friend, June is the best guide you could ask for."

    Taipei Street Food

"We had an amazing time with Sonia on our Taipei Street Food tour. Sonia was engaging, informative, and helpful, making sure we got to try things we wanted and that everything ran smoothly. If you're thinking of booking this tour, I'd highly recommend doing it early in your visit, and I'd definitely recommend going with Sonia. She was really knowledgeable and is well travelled, so meeting her made the experience even better. She also went above and beyond to give us tips for things to do on our trip and to help with some planning for the lantern festival."
