Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"We had an absolut great time with Pedro. Getting introduced to Lisbon and Portugal through its culinary delights is the best. Pedro was very knowledgeable and we appreciated his pleasant and calm manner. We walked around the city centre and took us to hidden courtyards only a local would know. He further managed to beat the crowds and ended in a place just under the castelo with a stunning view over the city. Thanks Pedro for further restaurant tips and bars with fado music. :-)"
"We had a very nice and informative tour. We can highly recommend Diogo as a guide."
"We had a fantastic evening with Constança with delicious gastronomic specialties from Portugal. In addition to the food, she gave a historical tour of Cascais with an account of the history, architecture and culture. We highly recommend a tour with Constança."
"Alphe made our introduction to Lisboa such a pleasure. He is so personable, knowledgeable, and does not rush through your shared time. He can find all of the delicious local gems that are off the tourist path. If you want an authentic and historically relevant experience with a charismatic guide, he's your man."
"This is a great experience. Yeah, you can go to Portuguese restaurants and eat Portuguese food … but you can do that ANY day. The idea of eating with a local is so very personal and not commercial. So, first, the concept is great. Secondly, our host, Isabel, was very welcoming and pleasant and we were able to hear about her life and that of a resident. She is a very, very lovely person, a good conversationalist and a great cook. We had three bottles of wine between three of us (and there was plenty more if needed) and many starters (different cheeses, tomatoes, bread, etc.) - I probably would have been fine to stop there. Then Isabel brought out our first course of … of … not sure how to describe it. It was kind of like mashed potatoes with Cod and a coating of baked cheese atop - it’s Shepard’s Pie but with cod (is the closest I can think) but, regardless, it was gooooood. Our final dish was black pig … soooo good. Of course, we had to switch from white to red wine for this dish. Then entire night went too fast. Would strongly recommend anyone do this. Well worth it."
"Peter gave us a 3 hour superlative historical and food tour . We wouldn’t for a minute. Great guide. You will be full when you’re done and wiser as well "
"Constanca provided a wonderful food tour of Cascais. While we enjoyed the opportunity to experience Portuguese cuisine, we also learned so much about the history of this beautiful area . We would definitely recommend to others looking for this food experience."
"Peter was the best. In a city teeming with tourists he brought us to charming locations with history but no crowds. And if you want to learn the history, he's the one. Very knowledgeable and a natural teacher. "
"We had a fabulous afternoon with Angelo. He shared many great food places with us, along with sharing so much history of the city. After our tour, he also shared many of his favorite restaurants, along with some great things to see and places to shop. We would highly recommend a tour with Angelo!"
"Rita was a perfect guide. She took us to several really great places in different neighborhoods to sample foods. She gave us the history of the foods, the restaurants and the neighborhoods. She was informative, friendly and funny. I highly recommend this tour and Rita as a guide!!"
