We began the evening with a light, refreshing drink and traditional Portuguese bread that she had picked up fresh from the market earlier that day. Since we requested a seafood-focused meal, Helena guided us through the preparation of an incredible shrimp and sea bass stew, paired with traditional Portuguese rice. To finish, she shared her grandmother's cherished recipe for crème brûlée. Cooking alongside Helena, learning about Portuguese cuisine, and sharing the meal together made for a memorable and authentic experience. It was one of the highlights of our time in Portugal, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine home-cooking experience."

"I joined the Wine and Vinyls private tour in Porto with Andre, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had as a music lover. What I expected to be a great wine experience became something much more special. Andre welcomed me into a studio filled with thousands of vinyl records spanning Portuguese music, jazz, bossa nova, and many other genres. His passion for music is absolutely contagious. He doesn’t just play records — he brings them to life through stories, fun facts, artist insights, and the kind of deep knowledge that makes every song feel more meaningful. What impressed me most was how naturally he blended music and wine together, pairing Portuguese wines with stories, sounds, and cultural context in such a thoughtful and memorable way. You can immediately tell this is someone who genuinely loves what he does and wants to share it with others. Andre is an incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable host. I left feeling inspired, having learned so much about Portuguese music, wine, and the stories behind both. It honestly felt less like a tour and more like spending time with someone who is truly “the guy” when it comes to music culture in Porto. "Our dinner with Patricia and her husband was such a lovely diversion from all the typical touristy sightseeing we had done and one of the highlights of our trip. They were so welcoming and friendly! She then showed us to her home. We listened to Fado music as she entertained us with a 3 course local family meal. This experience was exactly what we were looking for. "I had a great time with Helena! She is very warm, open and friendly. I joined her experience with my early teens. We went to the local butcher shop and supermarket together and then enjoyed chatting and appetizers while cooking together. I especially loved a glass of vinho verde with requeijão de ovelha! I liked this cheese so much that I ended up buying it several times during the rest of my stay in Portugal. For the main course, she asked me in advance what we wanted, and although it was hard to choose as they were all appealing, we decided on the bacalhau dish. It was nice to see how to prepare bacalhau, a traditional ingredient that is an essential part of Portuguese cuisine. Also, since it was right around Easter time, she prepared Easter cookie baking for my daughter and she had fun cutting up the cookies and decorating them with chocolate. Thank you for a lovely relaxing evening!"
