Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"We had a walk of Kraków with Bartek, with focus on Kraków during ww2, and experiences of the Jewish people of Krakov. The walk began in what is called Kraków Schindler factory museum, which provides a detailed progressive view of what the life in krakow was prior to, during and after the occupation by German army. Bartek was great walking us through the exhibitions and pointing out interesting, unique a artifacts and moving through the story. While we are generally familiar with the history of occupation, we found out many new things from Bartek. After the museum we followed on with a wonderful walk of Jewish ghetto and old Jewish neighborhood of Kraków. Bartek ensured the walk was interesting and engaging. We had a small but mixed group, 3 generations of same family, and everyone was able to see and learn things of interest, bartek catered very well to all 3 generations. Thank you Bartek! "
"Bartek was wonderful. His knowledge about the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter is very impressive. He was also very understanding about my Dad being hard of hearing and trying to make sure he could hear everything. We really enjoyed the experience and would recommended him to everyone! "
"My wife, myself and another couple spent a wonderful day exploring and learning about the beautiful city of Krakow with Tomasz. This young man was a delight—great personality, intelligent and a thorough knowledge of the history, culture and nuances of his country and city. He was passionate about his work and we, as a group thought he was our best guide in our four week trek across Europe—could not give him a higher recommendation. "
"Our small group found Bartek to be a very engaging, highly educated historian with a great sense of humor. He clearly has a passion for history, not just of Kraków or Poland, but of worldly events and how they affected Poland and he told many stories and myths that made the information easier to retain. He was also knowledgeable about architecture, culture, customs, food, and more. Bartek knows the city like the back of his hand. He recommended several restaurants, and all were excellent. Out of the dozen or so city tours we have done, Bartek was the best guide we've had. I would hire him in a heartbeat."
"Aleksandra guided us with enthousiasm and passion through Krakow. The Jewish quarter was a revelation! We were there with our family and my daughters, roughly of the same age as Aleksandra, really enjoyed hearing about the recent history and life in Krakow from when she was young. We enjoyed the food and bar tips she provided to us before and after the tour. I can only strongly recommend to hire Alexandra as you guide!"
"Bartek gave my 14 yo grandson and me a fantastic tour of Main Square, Wawel Castle, and the Jewish Quarter for most of the day. His knowledge and story-telling ability of the history of Krakow and especially what occurred during the period leading up to WWII was very broad and spending the day with Bartek was a pleasure. The pace was perfect, he chose a great restaurant for a quick bite, and we gained an excellent understanding of Krakow and the history of Poland. My grandson and I highly recommend Bartek if you are looking for a well-paced and informative day! "
"We did multiple tours with Bartek : from the horrors of Auschwitz-Birkenau to discovering the delightful city that is Krakow and the Jewish quarter ; hearing about the history, the impact of the Nazi invasion and also the lovely folk tales /myths surrounding various churches and buildings. Bartek is a font of information and he delivers it in enough detail to keep one engaged. He is amazingly flexible and will do what it takes to make the tour worthwhile. We found it really easy to hang out with him and talk about lots of issues and life in Poland. He absolutely made our time in Krakow so much more interesting and fun and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending his services. Our time in Krakow would have been half as interesting if we had not had Bartek with us. Just do it!"
"We fully enjoyed the tour with Tomasz.. he is very knowledgeable about the history of Poland during WWII in general and Krakow in particular, so he could guide us through those years, emphasising the important events impacting Krakow in an ‘entertaining’ way, to make it accessible. Tomasz is an excellent communicator and storyteller, which really takes you back to this period. Btw, the museum is really worth a visit, it has been designed in a modern and immersive manner, but without a guide like Tomasz, you risk missing a lot of the ideas behind it."
"We had a very interesting tour with Bartek through the jewish quarter, the area of the jewish ghetto and the Schindler factory. He was very friendly, accommodating, and a wealth of knowledge. Going through the factory museum with Bartek made the experience much easier than reading all of the displays ourselves considering how many people were there. He stopped and explained the exhibits and answered questions as we went which was very helpful. "
"Bartek gave an excellent tour of the Krakow Ghetto and Schindler's factory. While it was a three hour tour, Bartek was able to cover an amazing amount of materials explaining the growth of the city, the commercial and social life as well as going into great deal about the fate of the Jews in the area before, during and after the war. Perhaps the most extraordinary piece was the visit to Schindler's factory. The factory has been converted into a museum and is chock full of memorabilia and artifacts starting in the early 30's and going all the way till the end of the way in the later 40's. Without Bartek's help, we definitely would have overlooked the most important pieces of the exhibit. He moved us a long at a solid pace, drawing our attention to the most salient displays. Without that guidance we would have never made it through in an hour and a half. Bartek is soft spoken and thoughtful. He's been conducting tours for several years and brings a weatlh of knowledge to his work. He's intent on answering personal questions and bringing this terribly period of time in Krakow history to life for his visitors. I highly recommend Bartek as a tour guide."
