"Tanivet was a true local, born, bred and steeped in her community. After checking, she took us on a walk away from downtown into areas full local artisans pursuing their craft. Areas with interesting murals and stories of how the city was born and developed. History, archeology, architecture and social discourse. The fight for water and the environmental consequences. We came away knowing and respecting so much more of Oaxaca, its people and its environment. We also learnt a lot about downtown and had all of our questions answered. Three hours of fun. "

"Raquel was an ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL guide. This was our first time in Oaxaca and we really wanted to experience both the food and the culture. Raquel took the time to take us around the city centre and explained many historical and cultural aspects of the city that we never would have known without a guide like her. Raquel took into account what foods we really wanted to try, but also made sure that we tried foods we would only get in Oaxaca. She also broke up the tour between eating non-stop (which was fantastic), but also showing us the areas in the city and describing their cultural significance. She also taught us about the way food and the preparation methods of food have influenced the culture and habits of the people of Oaxaca. The tour felt like a walk with a good friend, and I would recommend it to anyone who is going on their first trip to Oaxaca!"
