A 30 minute train ride brought us to FRASCATI, where we were met by Pierpaolo who drove us to several of the beautiful and diverse towns of the Castelli Romani. Our stops included gorgeous scenery, fascinating history, tastes of wines and foods of the region, and shared comparisons of Italian and American life. Pierpaolo provided experiences we would have never found on our own, including our final lunch spot in FRASCATI, an historic osteria unlike any we’ve ever encountered in all our years in Italy. Excellent first stop for a cappuccino then on to view historic sites in the mountains. Claudio’s choice of our vineyard, Antiche Terra Tuscolane with Paula as our host, was the best wine experience we have ever had. Great wines in Roman-era caves! Simply amazing. Off for lunch and more wine tasting and the food……exceptional. Great conversations, wonderful local expert and a nice day out of Rome to experience another part of Italy.
