Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"Here's a friendly and natural review in English: > We had a wonderful time on the street food tour with Yula! She was incredibly kind, caring, and attentive to all of us. Our children loved her from the very first moment, which made the experience even more enjoyable for our family. We got to taste many delicious local dishes and, along the way, Yula shared fascinating stories about the history and culture of Yogyakarta. It was the perfect combination of great food, local insights, and warm hospitality. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Yogyakarta. If we had stayed longer, we would definitely have joined her other city tours as well. Thank you, Yula, for such a memorable evening! 😊"
"I had a tour of the city with Yula in the morning and this was the perfect way to end the day. I tried a variety of food that I normally would have just passed up. "
"We really enjoyed our time sampling the best sweet and savoury delights in Yogyakarta with Yulaikha. Yulaikha was a great conversationalist, food connoisseur and also a very talented artist. Thank you for introducing us to the city! "
"My friend and I (group of 4) had a great time exploring Yogya with Muhanif. We already live in Indonesia, so very much appreciated his food choices that were a little bit out of the ordinary for us. Unfortunately we were traveling during Ramadan, which meant some of the good places were closed at the time of our tour, but we still enjoyed exploring the back streets and places we wouldn't normally go. Thanks for a great tour!"
"For our first day in Jogja we booked a tour with Yula, the tour was beyond expectation. She took us to beautiful places and tolt us a mix of cultural and historical facts. Not only was the food delicious but she is also an amazing person!"
"We had the absolutely best time exploring Indonesian food with Yula. She quickly figured out what we might enjoy, and her choices were a hit from the very start. The time we spent with her was informative, interesting, and most of all fun, and we feel we are leaving Yogyakarta with a much better understanding and appreciation of the food, and most importantly, a new friend. We hope to see her again soon. "
"Yula is super!!! First of all she is a lovely person. Kind, patience and helps you to enjoy your stay. She has the real experience to be your local guide. Born in Yogyo she is realy a local. Besides her good English she also speaks Dutch as she is maried to a Dutch guy. We enjoyed so much having her as a guide. It made our evening superb. And we have tasted food we would otherwise never have found or eaten. Again.....super!"
"Today we did a food tour with Yula. She’s an incredibly sweet woman who really goes out of her way to make sure you have a great time. She took plenty of time with us, explained a lot about the history of Yogyakarta, and brought us to lovely local spots to try different dishes. Places you normally wouldn’t easily find as a tourist, because they’re hidden away. Yula has a Dutch husband, so it was really fun to talk with her about all the differences between the Netherlands and Indonesia, sometimes even in Dutch! Dankjewel Yula, for the wonderful day!"
"Loved Nasir. Knowledgeable, super friendly, strong English. Ate many delicious things."
"We had a great experience, too much food though :) nice to get a cultural and culinary tour through Yogyakarta"
