"It was tempting to remain on our terrace for 3 days with a fabulous view of the caldera in Imerovigli. I was so glad however that we had booked with Aphrodite to give us a different perspective of the island beyond the shopping and restaurants and perfect views. She understood that we wanted to learn about the history and culture of the island beyond the busy tourism industry and she delivered. Her suggestion on timing of our travels to get ahead of the cruise ship arrivals were excellent. She walked us down back streets of Oia away from the crowds, showing us examples of older architecture. And we were so pleased to have the opportunity to see the archeological work at Akrotiri that laid the foundation for an understanding of history we referred to throughout the rest of our travels in Greece. Perhaps one of the best decisions was a roadside stop at a small multi generational winery where we had the best tomato fritters and a Santorini salad with caper berry leaves! I can still taste them. Her flexibility, enthusiasm, humor and knowledge were all a perfect match for what we were looking for. Thank you Aphrodite for sharing your stories. I highly recommend visitors take advantage of all of your talents. "

"We spent a wonderful morning touring the island of Santorini with Aphrodite. We started the day with her picking us up from our hotel and then heading to Oia. Aphrodite took us to all of the great picture spots and we got lots of great shots with the famous blue roofs. Along the way she told us all about the history of the island. Next she took us further south to show us a cute little village with restaurants and shops as well as a traditional cave house that we were able to explore. Next we headed to Ancient Thera where we were given time to explore the ancient city on our own. Lastly, at our request, Aphrodite took us to Santo Winery where we were able to do a wine tasting in a spectacular settling cliffside overlooking the volcano. Throughout the day Aphrodite shared so much information with us on Greek history, the common practices of the Greek people and details about the island. By the end of the day she felt more like a friend than a tour guide. I would highly recommend her as a tour guide. She was great at keeping both my husband and I as well as our 10 year old daughter engaged, she listened to our interests and adjusted the tour to what she thought would interest us most and gave us a wealth of information along the way. "This is a must if you are cruising to Santorini and want to see the best of it. We were hosted by George, who was a wonderful tour guide and photographer! He took my camera and let me enjoy the trip, and captured amazing photos for us. Being a photographer, he knew and picked the best scenery spots, avoiding the crowds and queues. Based on our wish, he took us to an amazing restaurant/beach club where we had a 5-star seafood food meal in the vibrant black beach."
