"Dubravka’s warmth and considerable historical knowledge of Split, the Dalmatian area and Croatia kept the four of us completely engaged for almost four hours. We learnt so much about the history of Split, the buildings and their origins, the people and, probably the most touchingly, how Dubravka’s family and their traditions were woven into the city. She was warm and completely authentic, full of knowledge and side stories of the people who lived in Split over the last 2,000 years. As we walked through the narrow streets with her, she would pop into a cafe here or a shop there, treating us to some very special chocolate, a Pipi soda (and the amusing back-story), and other Split specialties, and we were rather sad for the afternoon to end. She had already run over by about an hour, and I am sure she was ready to call it a day, but she gave us no sign of that. The afternoon ended as it had begun, with a warm hug for each of us, and we felt like we had made a new friend. It really was a wonderful thing to do and we cannot recommend Dubravka highly enough.
