Kithulgala was the prime location of David Leaon’s Academy Award-winning film The Bridge on the River Kwai .It was filmed on the Kelani River , although nothing remains now except the concrete foundations for the bridge. Kitulgala is also a very famous for white-water rafting. Many of People are Visiting to Kithulgala for their weekends & Holidays, It is a 2 1/2 Hours Drive from Colombo. People are enjoying with the beautiful sceneries & Natural Pools on the Kalani River .It is a Safe Place to swim in the Dry Season.

Sri lanka’s main location for the White water rafting is Kithulgala . Kithulgala is chosen as the prime location in David Lean’s awarded film “The Bridge on River Kwai” in 1957.Kelani River is flowing through Kithulgala’s Rock section by making Major Rapids.

Proceed to start point of Rafting tour and safety briefing . Actual Stretch of White water rafting in Kelani River is about 5km’s. It will take 1 ½ to 2 hours with the Grade 2 & 3 Rapids. You will pass the 3 Major Rapids were named as Butter Crunch, Killer Falls & Kwai Wall.Departure
On conclusion return to campsite and get ready for departure . End of the great day of adventure & thrills!!!
