Here’s an overview of your tour
Explore the enchanting medieval city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber on a full-day private tour from Munich. You'll be picked up at your hotel at 8 a.m. or another time of your choice, and travel comfortably in a private MPV. The journey takes about 2.5 hours, during which we'll pass through the scenic Bavarian countryside and drive along the Romantic Road route.
Our first stop is at the majestic Harburg Castle, an impressive medieval fortress with stunning views. You can walk in the inner courtyard (entry 3 €) or visit the castle inside (entry 15 €).
Continuing our journey, we'll visit Dinkelsbühl, a charming town renowned for its old towers and marketplace. Here, you'll have free time to explore and soak in the historic atmosphere.
Our final destination is Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a picturesque medieval town surrounded by well-preserved town walls, gatehouses, and towers. Wander through its cobblestone streets lined with timbered houses, visit churches, and explore the old town center. Don't miss the Councilor’s Tavern with its famous clock tower, where a delightful show reenacts the legend of the brave mayor who drank a gallon of wine to save the city.
In Rothenburg ob der Tauber, you'll have time to yourself to explore at your own pace, walk along the city wall, and enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants.
On our return journey, we'll take the highway for a faster trip back to Munich, allowing you to relax after a day filled with unforgettable memories of medieval charm and Bavarian history.
