"We had a free day in HCM city, and had already done all the normal traditional tourist things. So we booked a tour of the districts, back streets, markets etc with Hieu. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and spoke excellent English. We got a good background to Districtv10, and wandered through at a leisurely pace. We also went to the local markets, but didnt eat any toads. Highly recommended as a bit of an off the beaten track tour."

" Hieu picked us up at our hotel right on time, and took us on a tour in a more local part of Saigon. He showed us some parts of Saigon that we’re important for him, and told us a lot about Vietnams history. Ofcourse I dont know what Hieus plans was from the start, but when he heard we went on a foodtour the day before, is seemed like he changed some plans in his head, so we didn’t had the same experience two days in a row. Acutely we’re so pleased with Hieu, that we had thought about another tour, with Hieu, but we had to change that plans due to some lite illness. "This was the first time we have done a With Locals tour, and we didn’t regret it. So much so that they are now our first choice when looking for a tour. The District 6 tour takes you out of the tourist heart of Saigon and into the old Chinatown. It provides a different perspective of the city. Thien was an excellent host, giving an in-depth view of past history and current life for the inhabitents of District 6. We started with a bus ride from Ben Tanh with an explanation of some of the key points of interest as we went along, then sat down for a coffee at the oldest coffee shop in Chinatown. Thien took us to the oldest (and less touristy temple) through various points of interest and finishing at the Binh Tay market. Well worth the experience."

"Huyen is just the best tour guide, we visited neighbourhoods that I might not have visited on my own, we travelled by local bus which was a great experience and we visited many interesting sights from fruit markets to temples and China Town. Huyen was like an old friend and a personal photographer which as a sole traveler was good as selfies are not always the best photos, so to have a guide who just took the initiative to take photos and share stories and give me advice even for the rest of my trip was just brilliant.
