"Ted kindly met us at the hotel. We saw such things as the burning monk statue, war museum and post office. Ted was able to talk about the history of the city and how the last 80 years had impacted on Vietnam. He showed us places we could visit on our own later like independence palace - which was worth it. He also helped us book for the ao show. He sent us a list of other places to visit not on the tour. "This was the first time we have done a With Locals tour, and we didn’t regret it. So much so that they are now our first choice when looking for a tour. The District 6 tour takes you out of the tourist heart of Saigon and into the old Chinatown. It provides a different perspective of the city. Thien was an excellent host, giving an in-depth view of past history and current life for the inhabitents of District 6. We started with a bus ride from Ben Tanh with an explanation of some of the key points of interest as we went along, then sat down for a coffee at the oldest coffee shop in Chinatown. Thien took us to the oldest (and less touristy temple) through various points of interest and finishing at the Binh Tay market. Well worth the experience."
