Rolf has family members who are working artists, and he has a degree in art history with advanced studies leading toward another degree. So my experience at the Rijk’s Museum began with entering one of the Rembrandt gallery rooms and being led to a small drawing or etching and hearing how and why Rembrandt made this image...what it was leading to, then examining it up close with a very nifty magnifying glass. I was led from gallery to gallery, lesson to lesson, image to image, insight to insight. The experience culminated in a cathedral-like gallery and the masterpiece,”Night Watch.” I really saw it like I had never seen it before. What fun!"
