"We spent a great day with Diana. We had booked a tour to Zaanse Schans, Volendam & Edam. As we started our drive to the country, Diana mentioned that this area was very crowded with tourists. We immediately told her - not for us! She pulled over, reset her GPS and took us to see an active windmill at Schermethorn. There were about 6 other tourists there. We visited delightful villages, had lunch in De Rijp and stopped at Simonehoeve, a traditional cheese farm to sample and purchase Gouda cheese. Again, very few tourists. A delightful end to our visit to the Netherlands."

She shared some history and interesting facts on the way, then showed us to her favourite spots once we arrived. Christa was friendly, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about local history - it was like talking to an old friend. Our time together ended too soon and I am sorry we had something booked later that afternoon, because she had wanted to take us to one more stop. "Christa picked us up promptly at our hotel in her spotless clean and comfortable car. Soon after leaving the hotel parking lot, Christa began telling us historical facts about the city where we were staying. As she drove, she continued providing information about the farmland and villages we were driving through. We planned to go see the historic windmills in Zaanse Schanse. Christa is well informed of the history and survival of these beautiful working pieces of architecture and is very happy to share her knowledge. Additionally, she has a deep, fluent understanding of Dutch historical culture and the Dutch people. During our time with Christa, we found her to be thoughtful and compassionate, knowledgeable and articulate, having excellent English. We also enjoyed our time with her in a very fun and relaxed atmosphere. This is likely because Christa loves what she does and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. We give Christa 10 out of 10 hearts and are so happy we got to spend the day with her. "
