"I wanted to write a worse review as no Carl as guide but boat and guide were good. I think tour guide was Cedric and he was fine. I tried changing pick up location night prior and was told “no” and asked to change drop off location and was told “yes.” Good boat and interesting tid bits from guide. Be aware you are booking a cool boat and a tour guide which may not be Carl."

"Had a lovely trip with Vanessa on her comfortable boat exploring the canals (including the smaller ones inaccessible to the bigger tourist boats) and the Amstel river. She embodies why we like “With locals” so much as it felt like the trip was with a friend rather than a tour guide. We were super impressed by her relaxed but expert boat skills. A fantastic trip and recommended."

"Our experience was fantastic. We wanted a small boat and to see some off the beaten path canals. Our party of 4 seniors were very comfortable and relaxed in the vintage boat. "Sven is a very personable and knowledgeable tour guide and having a well appointed enclosed boat made the experience exceptional. There was a glitch in communication in that we were told to look for a particular boat, but the one that arrived had a different name. After standing around for half an hour and sending multiple text messages, we asked a pilot who looked like he was waiting for someone if he knew where our boat was. Turns out he was waiting for us! So...all turned out well."

"10/10 recommend! PRIVATE & romantic boat tour through the Amsterdam canals. *insert heart eye emoji* YES, it’s expensive - but in our eyes, 100% worth it! It’s just your group and your guide in a quaint, privately-owned small boat (not one of the large, tacky & obnoxious tourist boats). You’re welcomed aboard the cute cruising boat, formally decorated pillows & a comfy indoor AND outdoor space. You choose the most comfortable space for you to sit throughout the tour. We were offered a choice of drink: champagne, beer, or a soda. There’s a small mix of nuts during your cruise as well. Our guide was knowledgeable about Amsterdam history, the canals, the architecture, culture & more! The private boat tour allowed us to ask a bunch of questions! We specifically booked a tour around the sunset hour! AMAZING!!! Doesn’t that sound wayyyyyy better than piling on a classical tourist boat, overcrowded & using a recycled headset to listen to a pre-recorded history audio?"

"Booked this private cruise as part of my birthday celebrations with my family, ranging in age from 2 to 80yrs. We all enjoyed it very much. We had a welcome drink with a choice of Prosecco, beer or a soft drink which was a nice touch . A beautiful and well maintained boat there was plenty of room for 12 of us to sit comfortably and all with a good view. On a rather overcast day we were pleased that the boat was covered, with removable sides . Carl told us lots of interesting facts and stories which made the trip special and brought Amsterdam past and present to life. I would very highly recommend this canal cruise."
