Uncover the best of White Temple the local Way

"We travelled from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai with Ratana as our guide. We could not have asked for a more like-able, knowledgeable person to spend the day with. Ratana presented picked us up from our hotel and we set off for Chiang Rai. Ratana suggested a couple of stops along the way. We visited one of the ‘long neck’ villages and also heeded Ratana’s suggestion for a good coffee spot near a hot springs. The main reason for our trip was to visit the White Temple, which we did and really appreciated Ratana pointing out some features that we most likely would have missed if we were visiting on our own. Our trip also took us to the Blue Temple before we headed back to Chiang Mai. A substantial portion of the return trip was in nighttime conditions but even though it was dark and there was a lot of construction happening on the route, we felt most comfortable with Ratana’s excellent driving skills. We would definitely recommend a trip to the White Temple with Ratana as your guide. "

"Our visit to Chaing Mai was going to be short and knew we had to fit in the Chaing Rai trip in a day visit. Knowing we wanted a more tailored trip which would quench our thirst for knowledge, culture and history we selected Naphat and could not believe how lucky we were to have found her. Naphat’s knowledge on Buddhism, and the places she hosts tours to is really out of this world, for the coffee lovers - she really knows the best places and can even feed rabbits and fish by zip line!! Conversation flowed well, the three hours each way flew by. Naphat is also well connected across the rest of Thailand and has helped us to sort out guides, transports and places to go later on our trip. Of course we also need to give a big shout out to Flo (sorry if I haven’t spelt it right) with roads and routes being dug up, Flo navigated the diversions with ease and helped maximise our time be waiting at alternative exits to avoid crowds. I would highly recommend using Naphat and when we come back will be definately requesting her again "

"We had a fantastic day out with Naphat, we were so glad she was able to cater for our very last minute booking :) We visited the white temple and blue temple in Chiang Rai and we were able to understand both the history & cultural context of both as well as get a really good insight into Thai Buddhism which underlies behaviour and belief systems - super interesting and we really appreciated how open Naphat was to our questions - she was genuinely excited to share! The white temple was the highlight and really understanding it made a huge difference (i had visited previously by myself and it was really quite a shallow experience!) I’ve lived in Thailand for 10 years and i still learnt a lot about what makes the Thai people tick from just one day with Naphat! Highly recommended, really friendly, helpful and professional! Our driver was also very good - smooth ride, felt very safe and comfortable, necessary for that long drive!"

"Mr. Tepthai picked us up from the airport which was very kind. We did a check in at a hotel and went on a city tour. We stayed also at his homestay for 1 night at a great green jungle location. He prepared one of the most romantic dinners we ever had at the veranda with candle light and the food was home made and amazing. Also the breakfast was amazing. He has a good heart and is taking care of animals. Lovely cats and dogs. If you want a real nature experience we recommend staying at his homestay. He is driving very safe and we had some nice snacks during the daytours. We felt very relaxed and not in a hurry. The only thing that could be improved is his English, this is sometimes a bit difficult. We may expected more story's about the places we visited. But just keep asking and he will explain. The more we start to know him the more we appreciate him. For a city tour or multiple days tour we recommend him. "

"After plans fell through with another agency, my family last minute booked a trip with Naphat to Chiang Rai- and we couldn’t be more pleased! She was so accommodating to all of our needs and allowed us flexibility to craft our own schedule, prioritizing the sights we wanted to see. We visited the blue and white temples, both of which she had a wealth of information for. She was able to share so much insight about Thai history and cultural beliefs and practices, also the symbolism present in both of the temples. We would have had such a stunted experience at these places without her guidance. I can also say her presence is very friendly and warm (and she is so patient!) - it is quite enjoyable to pass the day with her. Also no worries for language barriers, as her English is exceptional. "My husband and I booked a tour to Chiang Rai to view the popular white and blue temples. Kamutnadda provided transportation there and back, with a lot of history of the area along the way. As we started visiting, he realized how much we wanted to see and experience more of the history and culture of this area. Kamytnadda turned our day into a "super-trip," filled with rare and exciting finds. Often times we found ourselves to be the only visitors in some amazing sites. He took us to a huge Buddha statue that was so old that there were only guesses to it's age. He drove us through windy roads and up mountains to reach the Buddha. It was located in the middle of a farmers field, of all things. It was so spectacular! And no crowds for us to move through. He also recommended a place for dinner that was out of this world. There would have been no way we could have found it on our own. Kamutnadda has such a passion for his home country and it sure showed on our excursion. We plan to return and book him again for a few days."
