Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"We were so lucky to spend our last evening in Bangkok with Zarut! He was very responsive to our foodie interests, and was a great guide to the street food scene in Chinatown. And even better than the food, it was great fun getting to know Zarut — laughing with him and hearing his perspectives. He was so patient with our endless questions. Highly recommended!"
"I had a great experience on this food tour thanks to my wonderful guide, Zarut. He was incredibly personable, kind, and attentive, and made me feel comfortable and welcome from the start. He took the time to learn my preferences and made sure I was enjoying every stop along the way. The variety of food was excellent — I got to try a lot of different dishes and flavors. Zarut shared helpful background and local insights that made the experience even more meaningful. His positive energy, patience, and genuine passion for sharing local food culture truly stood out. This tour was one of the highlights of my trip, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable food experience."
"My private food tasting tour through Chinatown with Zarut was a 10/10. Zarut is very reliable and kind and adjusted the food tasting options to my personal preferences. He showed me places, I myself would have never found. It was truly an experience "with locals". Besides the tasty typical Thai food, a short boat ride, interesting historical facts about Chinatown and making sure I was comfortable all the time I also enjoyed the easy talk with Zarut. To me there would have been no better way to explore Bangkok Chinatown. Thank you and 100% recommend. "
"Highly enthusiastic sharing Thai culture, great food selections where locals eat, very kind, and our family sure enjoyed her company! Thank you Araya♥️"
"Araya was wonderful and clearly knew what she was talking about. She created a personalised tour and all the food places she picked were delicious. I’d highly recommend booking with her."
"We had Araya as our guide. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and history. It was a fantastic foodie tour and we tasted and learned a lot. We highly recommend Araya as a local guide. Below is a overview of everything we ate. Food List 1. Roasted Duck 2. Stired Fried Basil Leave, Garlic and Chili with minced Pork (Pad Ka Praow Mou, in Thai) 3. Rice Soup or Congee with Pork Ball 4. Mangosteen (Fruit) 5. Curry Noddle with Chicken Drum Stick 6. Mango Sticky Rice"
"He was fantastic, super personable, knew the best places to go! We had a terrific couple of days with him and he treated us to the best spots. On my birthday he got a present and birthday cake for me! He went appove and beyond and I love getting to know him!"
"We had a fantastic tasting tour with Kim (Apicha). A great mixture of unexpected and traditional items. Kim went the extra mile by contacting us before the tour, with wetwipes on hand and guiding us to great cocktail bars after the tour. He took us to a district we would not necessarily have visited and only presented high quality food items. If you are interesting in experiencing Bangkok and some local food, I recommend this tour and Kim."
"We’ve learned it is money well spent to hire a local guide on day one - group or personal - when visiting an iconic city for the first time . An initial dose of local expertise, the do’s and don’ts, some historical perspective and a primer in regional culture afford the rest of the visit some deliberate structure, instead of counting on dumb luck to be in the right place at the right time. Trip prep reading is important too, but local guides really cement an itinerary for us. So much to see, so little time to see it. We signed up for a Bangkok “street food and history” tour “WithLocals” - and it was just what we needed - “Sammy” met us at base of steps to a BTS station , and we spent the afternoon together. Poor guy talked non-stop; we even followed him halfway back to his house so he could set us loose in the Chatuchak weekend market on the way. Walked couple hours sampling local fare - some familiar, some bizarre - walked down alleys and streets I never would’ve known existed without the tour. Made offering at a Hindu temple, took selfies at the tallest building in the city. Learned so much, in our short time together, will affect our following month in Thailand. Excellent job by Sammy, made a lasting impression on us; doubt I’ll ever think about Bangkok without thinking of Sammy too . Definitely well worth the time and money - thank you again my friend!"
"We had a great time with Araya! She's got a great energy and is a pleasure to talk to. As for the food, it was all amazing. She took us to a variety of local restaurants and street food venues in Bangrok. It didn't feel touristy at all. All of the food was stellar."
