"We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Kandy with Buddhima. She was an outstanding guide. From our initial communications and meeting arrangements to the actual tour, the organization was perfect. She kindly accommodated our requests and patiently answered all our questions. As we had combined two tours we go to spend the whole day with her, we learnt all about the culture and history of the city, saw hidden gems off the beaten track and tasted the most delicious food and explored the local markets. "Buddhima was the perfect guide for an afternoon in Kandy. We had so much fun in her company and she went above and beyond to ensure we saw and experienced as much of Kandy as possible. Buddhima’s knowledge of the history and culture of Sri Lanka was extensive and she gave us a fascinating insight into the Buddhist and Hindu cultures. We made a number of food and drink stops during the tour. Everything we tasted was delicious, especially the milk tea and dosas. We would not hesitate to recommend Buddhima, she is excellent company and is very passionate about her country. She deserves all of her 5 star reviews. "To explain just how wonderful Buddhima is, I’ll first address her personality and then our particular tour. Buddhima has one of those joyful, engaging personalities that makes any activity that much better. She takes her job seriously, adapted multiple times, and enthusiastically shared information on anything we wanted to know. We knew we were in for a treat when, after apologizing for lunch delay that would push back our meetup, Buddhima showed up at the dosai, and brought a treat for our 20-month old! That extraordinary effort continued throughout the tour, as she showed us a traditional performance that we learned had closed during covid, but she knew if it and that it reopened 2-weeks ago! I could go on about the Buddhist temple we visited off the beaten path, and the vegan ice-cream journey she helped us on, but I’d suggest you’d be better off booking her and getting to experience both a wonderful time and a wonderful person!"

"We are very happy of this private guided tour! Buddhima has a great knowledge of the city of Kandy and it was very interesting to discover different places such as nice place to try Sri Lankan food, sacred places (temple of the tooth, cave temple, Buddha statue…) and nice point of view. "My mum, sister and I had a fabulous afternoon and evening tour with Buddhima in and around Kandy! She is warm, bubbly and fun and we got to experience things we would never have without her. In all pre-tour comms, she was very helpful and quick to reply. On the day, because it had been raining, she made special arrangements for her cousin to bring his car, picked us up in the car rather than on foot and drove us to our first hidden gem to ensure we had an amazing experience undisturbed by rain! I don't want to give spoilers but the hidden gem she took us to was absolutely incredible and unlike anything else we saw on the trip! It truly was a hidden gem - we were the only people there, which created a fantastic atmosphere and it was a special moment of our trip. Buddhima then took us for icecream at the university campus and let us stop to take photos with the oldest tree we've ever seen! (Think Whomping Willow from Harry Potter!) She then took us around Kandy centre on foot - taking us into the busy fruit and vegetable market (something we wouldn't have been brave enough to do on our own!), taking us for a mini food tour (tasting unusual Sri Lankan fruits and buying us some tasty savoury snacks!) and very kindly helping us with some shopping! We finished the tour by being taken around the incredible Temple of the Tooth for the evening ceremony, which was busy and buzzing and full of history! What we loved about this tour was Buddhima - she was warm, friendly, kind and passionate and made the experience a real pleasure. We felt like we had made a friend! If you're looking for an authentic experience with a local person and an interesting tour of Kandy and the surrounding area, we would 100% recommend Buddhima! "

"We had a wonderful tour of Kandy with Buddhima. Excellent insights into the history and culture of the city, and a great route starting at the Temple of the Tooth and the morning Puja, then the Royal Palace, the lake, and exploring other parts of Kandy too including the markets. Buddhima was attentive to our family's needs and flexible with the route, unhesitatingly sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge for this fascinating place. Great food recommendations too! Thank you!"

"We had a great time with Buddhima! She is extremley friendly and open. She explained a lot and we could ask her anything which came through our mind. She took a lot of time to explain us everything about the temple and buddhism but also about Kandy and Sri Lanka in general. We further explored the market and tried a lot of different fruits. Buddhima also showed us other Sri Lankan food. We would definetely recommend doing a tour with Buddhima! "

"We had a great Kandy City Tour with Buddhima. We met her on time at the predefined meeting place. She took us for a walk through town. We visited Kandy Lake, the temple of tooth, the food market and she showed us hidden places like nice cafes. We had the chance to try exotic fruits and enjoy a King Coconut on the food market. Finally she took us to a place where locals have their lunch and we tried a large variety of Sri Lankan dishes. Many thanks for this unique experience!"
