"Our afternoon with Jose was truly a fantastic, trip-defining experience of our visit to Valencia. From the first moments where Jose walked us around his neighborhood a bit, told us about the city, his connection to it, how he got started in cooking to doing the entire class in his charming kitchen, every moment made us feel more immersed in the city. Jose is both a talented cook and a gifted teacher, explaining how and why things are done and then happily offering each person in your group of a chance to play a part in putting the meal together. His hospitality is superlative, thoughtfully having a local aperitif, wines to any taste, and a full stocked and prepared fridge. And the food: Jose is a FANTASTIC cook. Easily one of the best meals we had in Spain, and his list of recipes he provided as a parting gift leave us excited to see more of his talent and culinary vision. Cannot recommend highly enough, if you're going to Valencia and enjoy cooking, you owe it to yourself to spend an afternoon with Jose."

"My partner and I took a private cooking class with Jose and it was just amazing! We've learned so much about the food, the cooking process including chefs tricks and tipps and the history of the food. The food cooking was really fun and informative. We had very creative tapas to start with Vermouth and then cooked a paella de marisco step by step ourselves from scratch which was super cool. We had cava and wine while cooking - Jose not only provides great food but also a great selection of local wines that go with cooking. We ended with a desert and also got a cooking book with many recipes. A 20/10 review - can highly recommend. "

"Jose is amazing. Very hospitable, but also had lots of surprises and great tips only a pro would know. We have had many cooking classes and this is by far the best. Fun and we learned a lot of things we can improve! We took this class to supplement my daughter's classes (we decided to travel europe to learn how to make local dishes... and of course for Paella you go to Valencia!). Yes, we came to Valencia for THIS CLASS (the other sightseeing and running in the park were just incidental). By the way, this Paella was better than the ones we had in the restaurants there. Do yourself a favor and take this class. Next time we're taking it again but doing a different Spanish dish to add to our collection :) "

No cookie-cutter, antiseptic corporate kitchen experience her as Chef Jose warmly welcomed you into his own kitchen. A native of Valencia who has logged years in Michellin-starred kitchens in London and Valencia, Chef Jose is a personable, engaging teacher. We added two additional tapas and sangria to the core paella class offered here. Best decision ever: The two added tapas were beautiful, highly creative "takes" on Spanish classics worthy of a Michellin kitchen. Both dishes tasted simply sublime! Equally delicious was Chef Jose's traditional Valencia Paella. Thanks to Chef Jose's precise instructions and clear illustrations (and a bonus set of take-away recipes), we now feel 100% equipped to make at home! What a magical afternoon with a talented chef and engaging culinary guide! I can't recommend enough! "
