"Maria has a great knowledge of the history of Alicante. It was a very interesting walk through Santa Barbara castle and old Alicante. The hike took over 3 hours, but it wasn't tiring or difficult. "I recently had the pleasure of going on a food tour in Alicante with our host Maria, and I have to say it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we met Maria, she made us feel welcome and excited for the tour to come. The first stop on the tour was a picturesque square with charming houses and a stunning view of the castle. Here, we were treated to some of the most delicious jamon and croquetas I've ever had. Maria also shared some interesting stories about the history of the area and the local culture, which added an extra layer of depth to the experience. Next, we visited a bookstore that had been converted into a wine bar. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, and the wine was absolutely delicious. We also had the chance to try some delicious manchego cheese, which paired perfectly with the wine. Maria was a great host, and we enjoyed chatting with her and learning more about her experiences living in Alicante. Throughout the tour, Maria took us to places that we never would have found on our own. She showed us hidden gems and local favourites that truly gave us a taste of the real Alicante. From the cozy squares to the charming wine bars, every stop on the tour was a highlight.
