Rui was an excellent local guide who arrived early and whose English was immaculate. Lucky for us as complete novices to Portuguese. He adjusted the pace of our tour to accommodate some slow & injured walkers. But we still saw everything on the list and ate the best Portuguese tarts of our holiday.
If we’d had more days in Porto, we would’ve booked him again for something else. Rui went above and beyond providing a list of gourmet food spots for the rest of our stay. "

He really goes the extra mile to make your visit meaningful and enjoyable. He took us to lunch to eat roast suckling pig at a restaurant he has been frequenting as a child. It was our favorite meal of our trip to Portugal. He also recommended a wonderful fish restaurant for dinner where we ate a fantastic grilled seabass and sardines -- with no other tourists there -- just locals. I would not hesitate to call Gustavo the next time we are in Porto."
"I wanted to see Porto off the beaten track and Ruben delivered. I saw all of the main sights with my tour group. I wanted to see the city from the point of view of the locals. The added benefit was no crowds. Ruben also gave me a brief history of Portugal. Very interesting. Be prepared to do a lot of walking including many, many stairs and hills. Wear good shoes."
