Each of the vendors that we tried was different and we tasted many foods that at home are not tasty. The fish, olive oils, ports, gunja, fruits were all delicious. The visit to the market was a wonderful experience. Mayami is very well versed and I would highly recommend not only this tour but to select her as guide!"

"Teresa was truly the best person to take us on the Bolhão Market tour. She knows all the stalls and the people who work there, and shops there herself for her family! Teresa introduced us to the stalls that offer truly Portuguese products that may get lost among all the other tourist-oriented ones. She had us try various Portuguese olive oils, pork sausages and dishes, and eclairs that originated from a local dairy business. Teresa also told us about the local shops surrounding the Market and how to identify the locally owned specialty businesses. We really enjoyed also learning about the daily life in Porto and how things have changed over time, especially related to COVID-era restrictions. Teresa is so sincere, kind, and friendly that the tour felt like just an easy conversation with a local friend. We loved our time with Teresa and highly recommend her to anyone who wants to get to know Porto from a true local's perspective. "

"Jorge was a master at flexibility! We made the mistake of booking a food tour with him on a holiday when the famous Mercado de Bolhão was closed — our fault! But truly, we didn’t even miss the market because Jorge made our afternoon so interesting. We sampled Porto’s most famous food and drinks at local stops, as if we were wandering hidden corners of town with an old friend. Jorge was so patient with our four young boys (no small feat!) and kept them engaged for 2.5 hours, while keeping the route/stops intriguing for us adults, as well. He is such a genuine, kind soul — we were lucky to have him as our guide!"
