"We traveled from Porto to Lisbon with Gustavo stopping in Coimbra and Bacalhau along the way. Gustavo was excellent at telling us what to expect and how to approach our stops along the trip. We enjoyed the university library and cathedral in Coimbra. Those locations don't provide significant information and Gustavo gave us all the history and context to appreciate that experience. The monastery in Batalha was beautiful and a great choice for a stop. Again, we would have struggled to understand without Gustavo's guidance. Overall an enjoyable ride with good conversation. We'd certainly recommend taking this trip with Gustavo. "

"Orlando hosted us on a tour of Douro Valley and it really felt like we were on a trip with a local friend who knows all the best spots. Orlando first took us to do a boat ride along the Douro River and recommended a very old school, classic Portuguese restaurant for lunch. Next stop was the wine and port producer that had a very beautiful garden and view of the valley, to go with their wines and ports. Then, we went to Amarante with its old monastery and a very cute town. Orlando shared his deep knowledge of religion, the town itself, and its turbulent history with foreign invasions and Portuguese regime changes. During the entire trip along the winding mountain roads, we never ran out of things to talk about and learn about each other and Portugal history and culture. Orlando truly felt like a friend by the end of the day. We hope to come back to Porto and do other tours with Orlando, so that we can continue with our conversation that we started in Douro Valley. "

"We had a wonderful time with Priscilla, who shared her love of Porto with us over several hours. She hit the major spots we’d hoped to see, but what really set the tour apart was that she also took us to a few areas where locals actually hang out — a completely different side of the city than the postcard version. We covered everything from world travel to local culture, swapping stories the whole way, and wrapped up with a traditional Portuguese lunch at a spot we never would have found ourselves. She also left us with fabulous dinner recommendations—both Portuguese and Brazilian food!"

"We had booked Maria for a city tour but ended up pivoting a few days before as we wanted it to be more food focused. Maria took us to several places and we got to try many local foods. It was a great experience and she was very knowledgeable about the city and the food. Afterwards she sent us several restaurant recommendations, which we ended up going to most of. Very highly recommend! Just a note because we did not originally book a food tour we paid for most everything we tried along the way, which was totally fine everything was very reasonably priced! "
