"Paula led our walking tour with wine and food pairing. We have done many wine tours and visited wineries in other countries. But Paula's approach to tasting and understanding wine and food pairing was so different from how we've always done it. It felt more like a science experiment than a tasting. Prior to starting the tasting, Paula did a small walking tour with us giving us highlights of Lisbon and its history. Then, for the wine and food pairing, she selected 2 cold dishes and 2 hot dishes to compare and contrast how the texture and flavors change with each wine and food combination. When Paula said that this approach is how she leads her wine tasting courses for sommeliers, it made us feel like we were getting a glimpse of how the pros do it. Paula also took extra time to help us find the best way to get to our next destination after her tasting and tour were over. She was so helpful and so interesting. We are still so excited to have learned from Paula that we have been telling people we met in other tours in Lisbon about her. "

"As a family we had a wonderfull evening with Alphe. His enthusiastic stories about Lisbon and its historic, but also some ins and outs about life in Lisbon now. Alphe is a beautiful person and easy to get along with. He took us to a hidden gem to eat and drink. He took all the time and after the tour he gave online some great tips for our time in Lisbon. The only pit I found was that the Culinary Kickstart was advertised as a walk with various food stops, so that you could see some more of Lisbon's eateries, but our evening we only went to 1 place to eat."

"We really enjoyed our tour with Ângelo. He gave us way more time than the two hour tour and all the tastings were fantastic. We only had 24 hours in Lisbon so it gave us a good overview of the history and different areas of the city. It was probably a bit too much talking and history for my teenage daughter but it was perfect for me and I would highly recommend if you want to come away with a lot more than just food!"

"Ângelo was an exceptional guide and a wonderfully enthusiastic storyteller. He seems to have a story, historical detail, or cultural insight for nearly every street corner and every bite, and we came away understanding far more about Lisbon than we expected from a food tour. The tour was extremely well curated, with a great mix of classic flavors and smaller, lesser-known places where we were often surrounded almost entirely by locals. That made the experience feel genuinely personal rather than like a standard tourist tasting circuit. Our group had a couple of dietary requests, and Ângelo accommodated them quickly and graciously so that everyone felt included. He also went above and beyond by sharing numerous recommendations for the rest of our time in Lisbon and the surrounding area. No question went unanswered, and we left with both full stomachs and a much longer list of places we wanted to explore.
