"Rita was an amazing guide for our day exploring Sintra! I expressed my dream of seeing Peña Palace and Regaleira in one day. Rita expressed worry about the achievability of this plan, but was willing to try to make it work! We made it work! It was an enjoyable experience, though a bit of a workout! Wear comfy shoes! After touring the beautiful grounds of Peña and Regaleira, Rita took us to a delightful place with beach access for lunch. We had hoped to make it to Cascais as well, but ran out of time. Rita was willing to hang with us as our kids enjoyed the beach. She was engaging with the kids - perhaps because she has two kiddos that are similar aged. The day felt like spending a day with a friend. She shared with us her love for the area, which made the tour a great learning and fun time! We are so thankful for Rita!"
"This was our first time in Portugal, and the day with Lius was one of the best experiences we've had! He communicated with us before the tour and accommodated with a later start and ending due to personal reasons. We never felt rushed. He was highly knowledgeable about the history and the details of everything. He provided history along the way, an added bonus! He also gave us a brief but nice shopping break in Cascais. I cannot imagine this tour without a guide like Lius. He provided us with excellent touring tips for the following day. He is also super fun! "Lisbon was our last stop on our week in Portugal and we definitely saved the best tour for last. Luis was friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. We ventured to Sintra, Pena Castle, Caiscase and saw some Lovely beaches along the way. Our Full day tour included enough free time to shop and have a great lunch at a restaurant that Luis recommended. Luis arrived on time. His vehicle was clean and comfortable and he was a safe and courteous driver. "

"If you plan to go to Sintra (or any tours from Lisbon) we highly recommend booking with Rui. Terrific communication from the get-go. We wanted to see the Quinta da Regaleira and Cabo da Roca. Rui worked with us to plan a perfect day. He was on-time in a clean comfortable van. Knew walking shortcuts so that we didn't get caught in the crowds that are the norm in Sintra. Provided insights and info as we walked and answered our many questions about Portugal and Lisbon. The thing that really stands out is Rui's personality, which is delightful. Friendly, comfortable, easy going while still keeping us on track for our very full day. He even added a stop as he drove us back to Lisbon because we hadn't yet been to the Monument to the Discoveries. (Well worth seeing!) An investment to do a private tour? - yes. Worth every penny -- Absolutely! PS - The trains were on strike when we were in Lisbon but because we had arranged with Rui, we didn't have any worries. "
"Miguel picked us up right on time (he was early) and was so enjoyable ! He arranged for our luggage to be transported ahead of our group to alleviate the stress of managing it throughout the tour. We saw Pena Palace and he provided the local history. He arranged the tickets and made sure we knew where to go and when to be there. Our time in Sintra was beautiful and the pastries along the way were delicious! He is an excellent guide and so accommodating. I highly recommend a day tour with Miguel!!"

"10/10 Highly Recommend – Sintra with Mario was Unforgettable! If you’re even thinking about doing a tour of Sintra, do yourself a favor and book it with Mario. From the very start, it felt less like a typical guided tour and more like exploring with a good friend who just happens to know every hidden gem, every shortcut, and everyone in town. He took us to places we never would’ve found on our own—quiet lookouts, tucked-away spots with unbelievable views, and local joints where he greeted the staff like family. The food? Incredible. Think authentic Portuguese cuisine you’d miss without insider tips, and Mario made sure we felt like locals every step of the way. He drove us around in this super cool jeep that adds a bit of adventure to the ride (fair warning—no seatbelts, so you will feel like a teenager again!). But that’s all part of the adventure. It was the perfect mix of excitement, beauty, and real connection to Sintra. Hands down one of the best days we’ve had on this vacation. Can’t recommend Mario and his buddies enough!"
