"We only had 1 full day in Lisbon and so selected Ângelo for a 3 hour walking tour of Lisbon. Our tour with Ângelo André was an absolute highlight of our time in Lisbon. His knowledge of the city, its history, and its cultural layers is exceptional, and he shares it with a passion that is genuinely infectious. Ângelo has that rare ability to be both informative and engaging — every story, every explanation, every detail added depth without ever feeling overwhelming. His English is fabulous, clear, and effortless, which made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable for our group. What stood out most was how attentive he was. Ângelo listened carefully to what our group was interested in and shaped the tour around our pace and preferences. He struck the perfect balance between guiding and adapting, making sure everyone felt included and catered for. He also took us to hidden gems we would never have found on our own — small streets, viewpoints, neighbourhood corners, and local spots that revealed the real soul of Lisbon. These moments made the tour feel personal and special. Above all, Ângelo’s passion for Lisbon shines through in everything he does. Thanks to him, we walked away with a much deeper understanding of the city’s history, its cultural diversity, and the stories that make Lisbon such a unique and vibrant place. "This was my second trip to Sintra but our first with Luis. He was on time, the car was spotless AND he even extended our trip by close to an hour to let us enjoy our last stop. It was well worth it to trek to some high points and off the beaten paths through neighborhoods in and around Baixa. "We were so lucky to have found Miguel on a last minute booking for a day trip to Sintra! He was the perfect guide for us with his knowledge of Portuguese history and current events as well as his background in conservation. His car (BMW) was clean, comfortable and well-equipped (with even a refrigerator in the trunk!) He had water bottles for us and kindly surprised us with some delicious local Sintra pastries. Our plan was for Miguel to accompany us during our visit to Regaleira Palace, but due to our need to be dropped as close to the palace as possible and the heavy traffic that day, unfortunately that didn't work out for us and we missed out on his detailed knowledge about the history of the palace which would've made for a much better visit. An unexpected treat was the Fado history and sampling he gave us on the drive back to Lisbon! Absolutely would not hesitate to book Miguel again - perhaps for day hiking or an evening of Fado. The only suggestion we have would be to make sure to discuss lunch plans on an daylong tour. The restaurant Miguel chose for us was a lovely beachside place, but given our schedule (early dinner reservations) we might've preferred something different. "

"I booked Rodrigo to be our tour. We were a group of 5 which included my 75 year old mother. I made Rodrigo aware from our initial communications that she may be somewhat limited with walking up hills. He assured me that he could stay with her while we walked around and to not worry- which he did. He also spoke to my mother in Spanish (he native language) while speaking to my husband in English as that is the only language my husband knows. Rodrigo was such a joy to spend the day with. He was very open to the things we were interested in doing and also recommended other stops that were never on our radar. I had never used Withlocals and am so happy to have found Rodrigo as he exceeded my expectations."

"We had an amazing day exploring the Sintra area in two tuk-tuks. It was the perfect way to get a great feel for the region. Our guides Rodrigo and his sister-in-law Rita were not only very knowledgeable and expert in sharing facts about the history and nature, but they were also very attentive and great company. This made the ride extra special. Although Sintra is home to stunning sites like the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira, we chose not to actually visit any locations inside today. This allowed us to fully enjoy the beautiful route through the forests and along the coast at our own pace. The guides were very flexible and took us all the way to the Cascais coastline and Cabo da Roca. This was ideal for us, as the children are going on a hike near Cabo da Roca later this week; now we’ve had a wonderful preview of the terrain and the impressive cliffs. We are saving the rest of the sights for later this week, but this tuk-tuk tour has certainly set the bar high. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to see a lot in a relaxed way! "
