"Rita was a wonderful tour guide! We had such an amazing experience seeing the sights in Sintra. Rita was incredibly knowledgeable, and helpful picking spots that were accessible and flexible with our small children. And I know it has been said before, but she is great with kids! Especially helping in engaging my 5 year old son. We also went to one of the best restaurants of our entire trip with the most incredible view! I will have dreams about that meal for years to come. "Our guide Angelo was superb. He gave a true locals insight into Lisbon. He brought its history to life and we saw parts of the city we would not have found on our own. His restaurant recommendations were perfect and the next time we return we need to do a food and wine tour with him. We tasted the best pastel de nata and he introduced us to cherry liquor. As well as taking the time to give us a tour afterwards he sent us a comprehensive list of other recommendations. "Sofia was a wonderful guide!! She was so knowledgeable and full of interesting conversation about the walk, local history and landscape and plants. I really enjoyed our time together! I love that she took me to some special spots that were a little off the beaten path. This was truly a magical forest hike and the castle was super interesting, with stunning views, it was a really memorable spot to go. Sofia was very patient with letting me stop to take lots of photos along the way, pointing out interesting details and photogenic spots away from crowds- she's got a fantastic eye for good photography! Sofia is very gracious and experienced in hospitality, she felt like a knowledgeable professional, historian, naturalist, and a new friend all at the same time. "

"Joao was without question the perfect guide for us, and blessed us with the most magical day trip out of Lisbon. He picked us up at our hotel right on time and after ensuring we were completely comfortable for the trip, began to enlighten us with the history of Lisbon and Portugal in a very conversational and entertaining way. We ask a lot of questions and “squirreled” him time after time, and he obliged us with informative answers then got back on track. The visit to Fátima was a very special experience, and Joao walked us through the different structures explaining the history and lore of each. We got the opportunity to attend a mass, and Joao did not make feel rushed at all. After Fátima we continued on to Nazere, which is nearby his family’s town. His knowledge and recounts of experiences at Nazere from his childhood were great. In addition to an amazing lunch at a friend’s restaurant overlooking the beach, he showed us some hidden gems including the surf museum. Continuing on to Obidos, we strolled through the walled city and learned about the history as well as fun stories of queens and other historical figures with roots there. At the end of the day we felt like we had taken a 200-level course on the country and seen some of the most spectacular sights of Portugal. We highly recommend this tour, and specifically choosing Joao to be your guide!"

"I spent a delightful afternoon with Peter seeing some of the highlights of Lisbon. Peter was well-prepared, knowledgeable, and creative. He has a binder of paintings, drawings, maps, diagrams, and photos to supplement his talk, which brought a deeper understanding to what we were seeing and discussing. I asked a lot of questions, including topics beyond what we were seeing, and he'd just flip to a different section of the binder where he'd prepared extra information. He'd already thought of everything! If you have the option, I'd take Peter's tour early in your trip. What I learned helped me notice and understand details while exploring on my own or taking other tours, even in other cities. Peter also gave me ideas for places to visit later. I highly recommend taking a tour with Peter, whether it's Lisbon highlights or one of his other creative options."

"We only had 1 full day in Lisbon and so selected Ângelo for a 3 hour walking tour of Lisbon. Our tour with Ângelo André was an absolute highlight of our time in Lisbon.
