"We were traveling with a larger tour group that had scheduled the usual tourist sights. However, we wanted to do a personal tour with a local guide to see the sights that only a local can appreciate. I arranged with Alfredo, our local guide, to meet us at our hotel to start the tour. We had just arrived in Lima and didn’t know how to navigate the roads as yet. We started with an explanation of the City of Lima as we traveling through the streets in a taxi. We arrived at the Santo Domingo Church and tour the site. Next, we went on a walking tour of the streets with a detailed explanation of the balconies and their histories. We then stopped by a local street vendor to try some the beef heart and offal that were being cooked in front of us. Not bad. We then headed for the town square with a description of the buildings there. Our final destination was Barrio Chino (Chinatown) which we wanted to see. Being of Asian heritage, we wanted to compare how the cuisine of Peru (Chifa) tasted against the authentic Asian style. It was just regular and didn’t match any of the authentic cooking in Asia. I was impressed by the number of chifas and the number of people on the streets. It was packed. We invited Alfredo to have some of the food when we dined in Chinatown. He was gracious enough to dine with us even though he said he was about to start another local tour that was starting in about twenty minutes. In summary, I would recommend Alfredo highly. Ten out of ten stars. He communicated with me online prior to the tour, was punctual, showed us what we wanted to see that was not on the usual touristy areas, went at a leisurely pace, had a thorough knowledge of the City and the history behind it. Finally, he told where was the best place to call for an Uber since Chinatown was crowded and traffic horrendous. We enjoyed our withlocals tour guide, Alfredo, Highly recommend him. Sure you will like him too."

I informed her that we were having a 3 hour tour the previous day and she asked to see the itinerary to ensure that we would not repeat any places that we had already visited.
