Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"Ouidad brought the ancient craft traditions of Marrakech’s souks to life in a way that simply would not have been possible alone. We watched in quiet amazement as carpet weavers tied each piece entirely by hand — a painstaking art form that made us look at every rug very differently. At a textile workshop we saw scarves being dyed and produced from scratch, with a fascinating explanation of the different natural and chemical dyes used to create those brilliant Moroccan colours. The most unexpected and memorable stop however was visiting the fernatchi — the fire tender responsible for heating one of the medina’s ancient hammam baths. His was a difficult, grimy and largely invisible job, keeping fires burning by hand so that hundreds of people could bathe in comfort, and yet he welcomed us warmly and rounded off the visit by playing a beautiful, soulful tune on his Guembri. A genuinely unforgettable moment. Ouidad then guided us to the breathtaking Medersa Ben Youssef — one of the finest examples of Moroccan architecture anywhere in the country — and thanks to her local knowledge we bypassed the lengthy tourist queue entirely, a reminder of just how valuable a great guide can be. Throughout the day she was attentive, generous with her knowledge and quietly looked out for us at every turn, even stepping in to negotiate on our behalf when we fell in love with a pair of sandals — securing us a much better price than we would ever have managed alone. Ouidad is simply outstanding. Book her without hesitation."
"Exploring Marrakech by bike with Omar as our guide was an unforgettable journey through time. We weaved through the ancient souks — a wonderfully claustrophobic experience that plunges you deep into the beating heart of the medina, where locals live, trade and go about their daily lives in a labyrinth of narrow alleyways. A highlight was visiting the Zaouïa of Sidi Bel Abbès, the revered shrine of one of Marrakech’s seven patron saints, a man celebrated for his devotion to helping the visually impaired — a moving and humbling stop that most tourists never find. Throughout the ride, Omar proved to be far more than a guide, pausing along the way to help those in need with quiet generosity that spoke volumes about his character. From the ancient medina we pedalled into the modern new town, and the contrast could not have been more striking. Wide boulevards, contemporary architecture and a completely different pace of life made it feel like crossing into another country entirely. The two worlds that make up Marrakech — one centuries old, one thoroughly modern — sit side by side in remarkable contrast, and there is no better way to appreciate that divide than from the seat of a bicycle. Omar brought both worlds to life with warmth, knowledge and humanity. Highly recommended."

"Our night tour began at the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque, the towering 12th-century landmark that dominates the Marrakech skyline. Beside it lie the hauntingly beautiful ruins of an older mosque, a fascinating reminder of the city’s layered history. Our guide brought both sites to life with a thoughtful and respectful overview of the Islamic faith — explaining the role the mosque plays in daily life, the call to prayer, and what the surrounding space means to the community. It was a genuinely moving way to begin the evening. From there, we plunged into the electric atmosphere of the night markets around Jemaa el-Fna square, where local performers — musicians, storytellers, and acrobats — put on an incredible show for the crowds. We then wound our way through the ancient souks, where our guide gave us a rich and detailed explanation of the different craft quarters — leatherwork, spices, lanterns, and textiles — and how the trading system works. One of the most sobering and memorable stops was the site of the old slave trade market, a powerful reminder of a dark chapter in Marrakech’s history that our guide handled with honesty and sensitivity. It was an unforgettable evening that revealed a side of Marrakech that most daytime visitors never get to see."
"What a wonderful experience with our guide Ouidad in Marrakech! From the very beginning, she took us into a world you would rarely discover on your own. We wandered through small alleys and ended up in places we would have simply walked past otherwise, like a fascinating shop where local brides and grooms rent their traditional clothing and jewelry. It felt like a true glimpse into everyday life. Along the way, we tasted a variety of local delicacies, all explained with enthusiasm and care. What made it even more special was her sense of humor, light, sharp, and perfectly timed, making the tour not only interesting but also genuinely fun and relaxed. Ouidad brings the city to life in a way that feels personal and authentic. Highly recommended if you want to truly experience Marrakech!"
"I can’t say enough good things about our time with Redouan. We started out with the history of Morocco as we wound our way to the souks. He told us about the Medina and the regions within and about the historic makeup of each. He took us through the different souks where we focused on art (paintings - I bought a gorgeous painting from the artist), leather, and metal. He pointed out where saints were buried, fountains, mosques, schools and bakeries (key elements to each region). We also had time to visit the Medersa Ben Youssef - a must visit in your stay. We ended our tour at a beautiful rooftop restaurant with an incredible view of the city. Redouan tailored our tour to what we wanted to see. If you are looking for a historian who is easy-going, I can’t recommend Redouan more."
"We had a great day with Adil! We had been in Marrakech for a few days already, but I didn't have the confidence to make any big purchases because it's easy to get overwhelmed in the medina. We had some specific things on our shopping list and he was happy to help us find the spots. He taught me how to haggle and made the day so much fun. Along the way he gave us so many fun tidbits about various areas in town, so it was like a walking tour & shopping trip rolled into one. He grew up in the medina and he clearly loves the city. I've already recommended Adil to some friends who are traveling later this year."
"Omar checked prior to the tour what our interests were and even suggested a slight rescheduling to make the most of the Madina due to Eid Al-fitr. Omar is very friendly and it was a great, relaxed few hours in his company. I’ve read other reviews complaining about guides being on their phones too much. The only interruptions we had with Omar were the amount of friends and family coming to say hi - he knows everyone! Omar looked after us very well and we even adapted the tour on the way to suit our interests. Omar had great knowledge having obviously lived in Marrakesh all his life and it was good to have his take on the city. I’ve been on other tours in Marrakesh and this was by far my favourite."
"This was a great way to see the medina. Redouan knows this place well - and knows a lot of people - so we were very happy to follow where he led. The tour is helpful as a way to understand the main products that are made and sold in the medina. Our favorite was the artist who creates art out of plaster - beautiful and an experience that we hadn't had elsewhere. We highly recommend Redouan, especially if you are new to shopping in the medina. Thank you!"
"We had a great night with Lhoussaine and Yusef experiencing the secret alley ways and food stalls in amongst the souks to taste some fabulous food and learn about Moroccans love of food and eating custom. My two boys of 9 and 13 initially nervous, grew in confidence with each tasting, claiming they had found new favourites at every stop. A really nice night that we are still talking about the next day. "
