We have traveled extensively and used Withlocals numerous times , all the guides are very good but occasionally some stand out above the rest .Said was one of these . His pre tour communication was excellent and he was waiting for us as arranged with the most welcoming smile and pleasant manner . He planned the day to perfection . We had a tour of the area with his reliable driver in the morning visiting amongst other places the tranquil gardens and a ride in the cable car . Then the highlight the food ! He paced everything so well and he explained everything clearly . We felt totally safe but more than anything enjoyed his company. I especially enjoyed the fact he openly shared things about his life and family in Agadir . The food was incredible and so was Said .The day was particularly special as it was his birthday! We learned a lot in the short time we spent with Said, and he gave us a lot of fascinating information about the local customs and history, along with some basic language lessons. "Said changed the time of the tour but turned up with the driver as re-arranged. I'm not sure the marina was very interesting as it was pretty much like any European marina for rich people. The viewpoint up at the Citadel Oufella was interesting with the rebuilding of extensive earthquake damage and the glorious view over the bay of Agadir. The central mosque had amazing architecture but I would have linked more time in the park learning about plants as there are so many beautiful green spaces around the city. And no one could tell me why, despite so many types of palm tree, that green coconut water was not available. On to the Argan factory and having since used the edible argan oil in a salad I can wholeheartedly confirm it makes a delicious and very special dressing, simply with lemon juice (like a cross between sesame and hazelnut oil). If I could have bought a bigger bottle... Then Souk al ahad where Said treated me to the best orange juice ever, then an incredible, simple yet complex beef tagine. The lush potatoes alone were worth the holiday. And the best harissa which I could have eaten more of. It was in a wee hole-in-the-wall cafe in the market and as far as I found, the only place to get sardines which are a staple of the port. If I had had more time I would have gone back to eat them. But, shopping on a full stomach is not my thing and I became overwhelmed by the choices of perfume offered to me but I did come away with a lovely new coffee cup. We picked up the next lot of customers before dropping me off which felt a bit dismissive. Also, the website advertises 30 Euros pp, then charges 110 Euros, so I found that a bit misleading too. Otherwise, Said's knowledge of his home town is tremendous and it's a great way to find your way around with a trustworthy guide."

"We were picked up punctually at our hotel and drove to the Marina first. Said explained the project to us. Hereafter we drove to the Kasbah, where we learnt about the earthquake in 1960 and building up of the city, we had a spectacular view over the ciy and the beach. It was very interesting. After having passed by the mosque, we were strolling through the Souk again, as we wanted to buy a few things. Last but not least we were visiting the Medina, which is stunningly beautiful. "Prima rondleiding gehad in Agadir. Niet spectaculair, maar Said vertelde ons veel over de stad en Marokko. We hadden voor de prijs (€100) wel meer verwacht. Maar kan ook zijn omdat we maar met z'n tweeën waren. Said is fijne gids. "
