Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"Kennedy is very smart and well spoken. She shepherded our family through busy train stations to the relative peace of Ueno park and Asakusa. She provides deep historical context for places visited as well as very practical, helpful advice on shopping and getting around Tokyo. We had to end early as some of our group got tired, but Kennedy was on track with our original itinerary and poised for more. Her pre-tour communications were thoughtful and helpful - a very good guide."
"Gerald toured us around the Shibuya area (our first time) showing us hidden gems and tailoring sights and stops based on our many questions and requests. (Including a stop to satisfy my craving for matcha tea gelato :) Gerald is a top notch guide - super knowledgeable, fun to converse with and easygoing. We really enjoyed our time together. Highly recommend!! "
"Ollie was so great. He met us at our accommodation (as requested by this nervous mother) and gave us a great overview of Tokyo showing us how to navigate Shinjuku station with its 200 exits, and taking us to the pretty Sensoji Temple passing through the old Asakusa district. It was lovely to meet you Ollie, good luck with the future. "
"My family met Gulay for a tour on our first day in Tokyo. Gulay was excellent about picking up cues for what would interest each member of the family. She made recommendations for things we could see and do through our trip. Those suggestions were impactful in our having a great trip! We learned about things we wouldn’t have other wise seen or understood. Gulay was a great tour guide! I couldn’t recommend her more!!"
"We spent 23 days between Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. 18 of the days were spent on a cruise ship visiting Taiwan and Japan. In Tokyo we had booked a 3 hour tour with Gerald. We learned and saw more in 3 hours Then we had the entire trip. He’s from Canada and spoke english that we could understand. He met us at our hotel and we took a cab away from the inner city. I had a lot of questions about everything. One experience.that we did was to go into a small grocery store. We learned all about the food and what it cost. We went to a 300 year old temple that was all original. (There were no BUSES) I could go on for another 200 words so I’ll say one more thing. We are in our 80s but we can still walk 4 to 5 miles not running but walking. So 3 hours were just right for us. I wish we could have done 4or5 he was that good. "
"Gerald was awesome. He totally indulged my anime obsessed daughter and took her to all her requested locations in Shibuya. While she was geeking out, he and I discussed history and some literature. Gerald showed us a view of Tokyo as good as Shibuya Sky and pointed out all the delicious desserts in food halls throughout Shibuya."
"Gerald is great fun, full of useful info and knowledge. Adapted to our specific needs very well. Good fun and highly recommend. "
"My husband and I did the food tour in Asakusa with Sheilina and had a brilliant experience. Sheilina was accommodating and thoughtful but, most importantly, knowledgeable about the area, its history and its food. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour with Sheilina to anyone visiting the area. "
"Supergreat experience with Gerald! Showed us great foods and places. We deeply enjoyed the insides of Tokyo and its residents. Tanoshii!! thank you very much for this time we had together! You are very welcome to visit us in Switzerland, Gerald!"
"Seden is a very nice person and an enjoyable companion for an afternoon of exploring the city and its food. She’s extremely knowledgeable and shared so much about Tokyo past and present. She adapted to the food preferences of the group and explained the tastings and drinks and culture, as well as the neighborhoods we walked through. It was a great introduction to Japan."
