Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"We had an amazing time on the Highlights & Hidden Gems of Shibuya tour with Gerald! Gerald showed us many interesting places in Shibuya that we would never have discovered on our own. He gave us great insight into everyday Japanese life and shared a lot of fascinating information about the area, the culture, and local customs. He answered all of our questions and was very easy to talk to throughout the tour. His knowledge is impressive, and he shares it with genuine enthusiasm, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also appreciated all the useful recommendations he gave us for restaurants, shops, and things to do in the area. This tour was a fantastic way to get to know Shibuya beyond the usual tourist spots. Thanks to Gerald, we saw and learned things that we would have completely missed otherwise. Highly recommended!"
"Tokyo for the first time Japan visitor can loo pretty daunting, especially with a packed. A few hours with Gulay as our orientation guide was invaluable. Gulay was able to introduce us to all the essentials - how to navigate the bewildering transport options, how to pay, and orientation of the city's various districts, even sense-check our itinerary to help us get the very best out of our time. It was an essential fast-track to getting to grips with this fascinating country as a first-time visitor, and well worth the time - Thanks Gulay!"
"Sena was a wonderful tour guide. She is very knowledgeable and put on a fun and interesting tour. We saw things that we would have missed if just wandering by ourselves. Would highly recommend her if you are planning to come to Tokyo"

"Alessandra is an engaging and knowledgeable host. I requested a shopping tour for local fashion. She took to me to some very interesting places including vintage, second-hand and local designers only available in Japan. It was so fun."
"A great afternoon shared with Joanne my guide, a last minute resource! I feel fortunate. It was fun doing tourist highlights, local’s coffee shop/ shopping and an appreciation for local culture. I highly recommend this tour . Joanne has a sunny disposition and overall helped me love Tokyo."
"Gerald was awesome. He totally indulged my anime obsessed daughter and took her to all her requested locations in Shibuya. While she was geeking out, he and I discussed history and some literature. Gerald showed us a view of Tokyo as good as Shibuya Sky and pointed out all the delicious desserts in food halls throughout Shibuya."
"We met Gerald on our first day in Tokyo/Japan and had a wonderful experience. Gerald is very knowledgeable, adapted our walking tour through Shibuya to our needs while providing very valuable insights into Japan and its people. He is patient and relaxed, and provided cool shopping & restaurant tips. He truly enjoys doing these tours, and one can really tell! Amazing!"
"We originally booked a kickstart tour with Gerald, but quickly realized we needed much more time to align with our goals for the day. Gerald was very accommodating, and we determined that combining two tours was the easiest way to make this happen within the platform. Please see my adjacent review of our day with Gerald. He is the best!"
"Marc was knowledgeable and knew where to go. He also took some great photos!"
" I had a few hours to spare on a trip primarily to shop for specific bottles of whisky. Well into my 70s with over 40 rolling stone years, I knew what I wanted a found me a perfect person to curate it for me. So I booked a private tour with a clear plan: local beer or sake, a standout omakase dinner, and live jazz in what I consider one of the best jazz cities worldwide. I expected some structure and light going around the neighborhood “for the elderly”, but the evening unfolded more organically, with, like jazz, some lovely improvisation. What made it memorable was the guide, I mean the “curator” — Sena is (present tense) engaging, well-traveled, culturally open, and fully fluent in English. Conversation flowed easily, and it felt more like spending time with an insightful glo-local (she’s both global and local, than being led on a scripted tour. In the end, it wasn’t the tour I had envisioned, but an awesome experience. If all you want is a “local tour” I can recommend a guide book for you for $10. But please look Sena up if you want what I wanted. "
