"We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon exploring Nara thanks to our fantastic guide, Hiro. He showed us so many gems in Nara including the beautiful Todai-ji temple and the great Buddha, and the Kasuga Taisha Shrine. He shared fascinating history along the way, bringing each place to life with stories and context we would have completely missed on our own. One of the other highlights was seeing the sacred deer and visiting a deer rescue center, which was such a unique and meaningful experience. It was clear how knowledgeable and passionate he is about Nara, its culture, and its wildlife. His family has lived in Nara for generations. What made the tour even more special was how generous he was with his time. After the tour officially ended, he kindly took us for a drink and a snack, which gave us the chance to continue chatting and learning more in a relaxed setting. It felt less like a formal tour and more like spending an afternoon with a knowledgeable local friend. If you’re visiting Nara, we highly recommend booking a tour with him. It was another one of the highlights of our trip to Japan! "

Our tour was fun and informative and Hiro then walked us to a locals only Izakaya for lunch, after lunch and well into overtime for the tour he walked us to an amazing, non-descript speakeasy that we would never have found on our own. "Hiroyuki gave us a wonderful introduction to Nara by bike. He was flexible about meeting us, when our lunch lasted longer than we had expected; he showed us a traditional Chinese pharmacy, founded in 1124 and owned by 24 generations of the same family; he helped us explore local antique shops to find a deck of \"100 poems\" playing cards; he took us for a ride along the river to the Great Buddha Temple and bought crackers to feed the deer. We had no specific objectives for our visit, and were happy that Hiro was so creative in proposing things for us to do. We recommend him highly."
