"We spent a fun and informative afternoon with Shohei. Even though we’d been to Kyoto twice before, he took us to some sites we’d never visited. His knowledge of Buddhism and Shintoism and Japanese history and culture more broadly gave us insights we’d never have had if we were exploring on our own. His experience growing up in the US helped him better describe some of the more nuanced differences between Japan and “the west”. He also made some recommendations for places and restaurants to visit that were very helpful. "Eiji gave me a great tour of Kyoto. We visited a very interesting temple and I learned a lot from him. Then we went to a onetime special event at a shine, featuring a ceremony of the top sumo wrestler of Japan. This was a rare and very special event to witness. We also walked through the emperor’s palace grounds and other interesting sites. It was also great to learn that Eiji is an avid Dodger fan :)"
"Ryuki-san was a kind and considerate tour guide! I was a bit nervous about meeting a new person but he made our group feel at ease. I enjoyed learning lots of new things from him about Kyoto from popular local places to eat in the Gion district to tidbits about statues, temples, and shrines. Time went by before we knew it! "Naoki was amazing. We texted as we were coming by train and he made us a much more reasonable meeting place. We also had someone with us who needed breaks and ability to sit down a few times. He made this availabille to us. Naiki was extremely knowledgeable and willing to help. He helped us buy train tickets for our return trip. The tour was great, old school Japan."
"We just completed an amazing 7 hour private tour with Ted to see the highlights of Kyoto. Ted was very well organized, professional, and communicated with me throughout the process. We had chosen 4 primary sites to visit but as we finished a little early Ted, at no additional charge, gave us a few options to see for a 5th additional site. We really appreciated that added flexibility. Ted was an incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and personable guide. He took several amazing photos of our group and gave us a great suggestion for lunch. We recommend him at the highest level. I plan on booking with him again on our next trip to Kyoto. Important Note: We had an ambitious 1 day itinerary and with Ted’s assistance we booked a private driver for the day. If you can mange the budget, I highly recommend the private driver. The rate through Ted was lower than if I contacted the transport company myself. It was very hot during our September trip, having toe driver drop off/pick-up directly in front of most of the sites was definitely a lifesaver. "
