During the garden tour, you will visit both legendary Kenrokuen garden, the Nomura-Samurai Residence and it’s garden but also other smaller more intimate gardens. The focus is on how Japanese gardens are structured and their anchoring in Japanese history. The guide graphically describes how the creators of these gardens have used trees, moss, stones and water to portray Japanese tradition and history. To be able to experience all aspects of the gardens we visited, you probably must be able to handle stairs and slopes. However....as Lucy showed a high degree of flexibility, it is probably possible to tailor garden visits to suit everyone.
