"We booked a tour for four adults and three children of the Pompeii ruins, and were lucky to be paired with Carlo. He's a patient, knowledgeable, and personable guide who adapted the tour to keep it interesting for our kids. It was the heat of the day, and he kept things moving (important for children who are not used to the Southern Italian heat) and avoided some of the more sensitive locations to help avoid meltdowns and nightmares. But he also managed to take the adults, who were eager to see the body casts we learned about in school. Carlo even offered restaurant and gelato suggestions for later in the day. If you get a chance to tour with Carlo, take it! "

"I've always dreamed of visiting Pompeii and the area around Vesuvius. Doing the tour with Raffaele was simply the icing on the cake. Because of the heat we opted for the smaller, but more intact Herculaneum (Ercolano), Unesco World Heritage Site. It exceeded our expectations. Not too crowded and fascinating. Raffaele gave us such insight into the dig, the existing ruins, history of the city, of the area - it came alive with his explanations. We loved it so much we booked another tour the next day to have lunch and see the colosseum where Sparticus trained and fought.
