"Oh my goodness - what a gem Gennaro is! We feel so lucky to have found him. We absolutely plan to book him again the next time we’re in Italy and will 1000% recommend him to all our friends and family. From our very first video chat, even before meeting in person, it felt like reconnecting with a long-lost friend. When he greeted us at Napoli Centrale, it truly felt like a beautiful reunion. Gennaro is, first and foremost, one of the kindest and friendliest people I’ve met. He is incredibly proud of his city, and his passion and enthusiasm are completely contagious - we already can’t wait to return! He’s knowledgeable, funny, professional, and wonderfully hands-on. Not only is he a true gem, but he’s clearly a bit of a local celebrity - everywhere we went, people seemed to know and greet him, which made the experience feel even more special and authentic. Even though we had a planned itinerary, he thoughtfully personalized our experience. When he learned that my boyfriend is a huge soccer fan and likes SSC Napoli​ and that my daughter’s grandparents were from Nola, he surprised us with unforgettable additions: a visit to the Napoli stadium​; a tour through the Maradona-dedicated areas of the city​; and​, a stop at the historic Porta Nolana - remnants of ​a medieval​ city gate that once led toward the town her grandparents were from. These thoughtful additions truly touched our hearts and made the day even more memorable and uniquely special. We wanted to change our flights home so my boyfriend could attend a Napoli match with Gennaro a few days later - it didn’t work out, but as we watched Napoli win, our hearts and thoughts were right there with Gennaro. We truly can’t wait for our next visit - whether in Napoli or when Gennaro comes to New York City! "

"We spent a full day with Francesco exploring Herculaneum and Pompeii as a family of four (two boys aged 7 and 10) and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our trip. Francesco is a trained archaeologist who grew up in this part of Italy, and that combination of academic knowledge and local roots makes him exceptional. He doesn’t just recite facts; he brings these places to life in a way that had our kids genuinely hooked. That’s no small thing when you’re asking a 7-year-old to care about ancient ruins. His English is excellent — he lived in the UK for a period — and he has that rare ability to pitch his explanations perfectly, whether he’s talking to the adults or crouching down to explain something to the boys at their level. What really set Francesco apart was his flexibility and calm when things went sideways. Our train from Naples was significantly delayed and he simply reorganised the itinerary on the spot to make the timings work, then drove us all in his car between the two sites himself. In between, he took us for lunch at a local spot nowhere near the tourist trail — exactly the kind of place you’d never find on your own. He also seems to know everyone in the area, which gives you that reassuring sense that you’re in genuinely good hands rather than just being another booking on someone’s calendar. We would recommend Francesco without hesitation and would book with him again in a heartbeat."

I can’t recommend him highly enough, his knowledge of Pompeii and Herculaneum is based on real life experience as both a local, born and raised in Pompeii and as a trained archeologist who even has artifacts that he personally excavated inside of the museum at Pompeii! Not only is he knowledgeable, he is enthusiastic, interesting and super friendly! His English is amazing and he keeps a good pace without making you feel rushed. Highly recommend booking a tour with Francesco - because why would you take an archeological tour with anyone other than an experienced and personable archeologist!!!"

"We had toured Pompeii and Herculeum one time before several years ago. Our traveling companions had never seen it, so we agreed to tour it again. It turns out that we got just an average tour last time, and the tour with Raffaele this time was so so much better. "Ettore created the most delicious 3 hour walking tour of Napoli we could imagine. His charm, wit, and zeal for his city were unmistakable. We were traveling with a toddler and a stroller, and were particularly appreciative of his patience and flexibility in helping us navigate the city together. I will never forget the first bite of frittatine, warm zeppole, mozzarella and more. "Carlo accepted our request for a same day tour as he lives in Pompeii. He met us at our hotel and we walked into the park together. We had another tour 3 days earlier so Carlo adjusted the normal tour to show us what we had missed on our first tour. We found the tour with Carlo very informative and interesting. Our first tour was good, but the tour with Carlo was better. "
