"We had such a great time with Gennaro. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Naples. Before the pizza class, Gennaro took us through the Spanish Quarter to see the Maradona tribute, sharing the history of the area and fascinating stories about Naples along the way. His knowledge and passion for the city made the walk just as enjoyable as the cooking experience itself. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome. We learned how to make authentic Neapolitan pizza from scratch, picked up plenty of tips, and enjoyed hearing about the traditions behind what makes Naples the home of pizza. The whole experience felt genuine, relaxed, and personal rather than like a typical cooking class. Our two teenage boys loved it just as much as we did, which says a lot! The pizza was absolutely delicious, and we’ll definitely be making it again at home. If you’re looking for an authentic and memorable experience in Naples, we couldn’t recommend Gennaro more highly. "We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Ylenia during our personalized cooking class in Napoli. From the moment we arrived, she made our group of six feel welcome and comfortable in her home. The class was hands-on, fun, and incredibly authentic. Ylenia patiently guided us through making delicious pizza, calzones, and a fantastic Caprese cake, sharing both cooking techniques and local traditions along the way. One of the highlights was enjoying wild cherries from her garden, which added a special personal touch to the experience. In addition to being an excellent instructor, Ylenia was a wonderful host. She generously shared recommendations and insights about Naples and the surrounding area, helping us discover places and experiences we might otherwise have missed. "After two amazing weeks traversing southern Italy and Sicily, our bags are packed and we’re sadly heading back to “the real world.” Reflecting back on the many gorgeous sights we’ve seen, the copious amounts of scrumptious food we’ve eaten, and the overall pleasure of experiencing “la dolce vita” on this trip, our time with Gennaro in Napoli the day we arrived remains one of the highlights! We were supposed to have a traditional Neapolitan pizza-making class with Gennaro, but there were technical difficulties—hard to make pizza without a working oven, right?—and Gennaro offered us the option of refunding our money or taking us on a pizza food tour of sorts instead. We were starving and had our hearts set on good pizza so we opted for the latter. That was one of the best decisions of our holiday as we spent the next three hours walking through the heart of Napoli eating some of the best pizza of our lives (including deep fried pizza which was “to die for!!!”), seeing how it’s made, drinking cafe and wine, sampling other street food, and getting a history lesson at the same time. Gennaro is smart, funny, insightful, and a genuine pleasure to hang out with! We feel like we made a new friend. A friend who knows where to find the yummiest pizza in Naples! But he’s not 19… (*inside joke) Grazie mille, Gennaro!!! Til next time…"

Fantastic hands-on experience with lots of information on history, ingredients, and technique. He was very accommodating to schedule and easy to work with. "Our first time in Napoli, and what a way to get introduced to the city. Had a fantastic afternoon with Gennaro, with so much information, and fantastic food tastings. We had originally booked the pizza class, but unfortunately the oven was broken, so after speaking with Gennaro, we agreed to go for a blend of the city tour and tasting tour. What started out as a disappointment with no pizza class, turned out to be a great tour, and Gennaro is a really good guide, with so much knowledge and love for his city, and on top a great guy. "Gennaro was very accommodating and met us early because we had finished our other tourist activities early. He picked us up from a location that worked for us and immediately made a great impression. Gennaro is funny, engaging and intelligent and knows all about both the history of Naples and pizza 😁 I'm not going to spoil the surprises by listing exactly what we did but it was a great afternoon of learning and sampling food. It was really hot and Gennaro kept us topped up with liquids from different bars and cafes. When we got to the pizza making part of the afternoon, both Gennaro and the staff at the cafe had a deep knowledge of exactly how it should be done. I learnt so much from the session and we made some really good authentic pizzas. My teenage daughters really enjoyed the afternoon as well, both being much better than me at the pizza making. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Italy!"

"We were on a cruise and Naples was our last stop. What fun we had on this experiential private excursion! Our previous days were ship shore excursions and our time with just three of us walking through Naples and making pizza with Gennaro was a nice change. We enjoyed learning how to make a good margherita pizza although we will likely never be able to replicate it. If you can choose Gennaro over what the cruise companies have to offer, I'd say you should do so! "
