"We spent a great afternoon with Walter tasting some traditional Sardinian foods in all sorts of different places. Apart from the eating itself, it was also good to get the background on the different foods. The people in the bars/shops where we tasted the foods were also very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Small and personal tours like this are a great way to see a city - much more interaction with the guide and therefore much more informative. And you can go at a pace that suits you best. "My wife and I were on a cruise with a one-day stop in Cagliari. We weren't sure how to take in all of the rich history and culinary traditions of Sardinia in such a short time. Then, we discovered Walter. He met us outside the cruise terminal gate, and and drove us to the highest of the seven hills surrounding Cagliari, where there was a walled-in city that dated back to the Roman era. We then proceeded to walk downhill along cobblestone streets and charming alleys enjoying the local fare, and even strolled through an open air market where we sampled many of the local foods. The price we paid meant that Walter paid for the food and even the wine that we sampled. We covered about seven miles of walking, eating our way down the hill. Of course, we were fine with the walking, and Walter had tailored this trip to our tastes. For those that want to walk less, he would assuredly tailor the day to your whims. "

He’s well traveled, personable, and knows his town very well. Best if you can do first day in town, so you know the area and can follow his other recommendations"

"Riccardo took us to local delicacies and a great overview of their culture. Especially enjoyed the cookie shop, seafood stop and wine and appetizers at the last place. The meeting point closer to the cruise ship would have been better as we decided to walk the half hour to meet up… a winding route uphill. "
