"I had a fantastic afternoon exploring Chandni Chowk with Ritesh, with breaks for the best street food! I gained an appreciation for how the history of Delhi melds into the present: while some families have been trading in the market for generations, there’s no form of historic preservation as in Europe. Some buildings are crumbling while new construction is underway next door. I mentioned at the start of our booking that I needed to find 2 more outfits for the wedding I’m attending this weekend. Ritesh was on the case, checking with friends on the best shops to visit. I’m very happy with the saree and blouse we found for the Mehendi ceremony and the fabric for the suit for the Haldi ceremony. We ran into several guys Ritesh described as ‘uncles’ (not literally his uncles; older guys from his neighbourhood) and I felt very safe in what could have been an overwhelming environment. I told my friend who lives in Delhi about the street food we ate; she’s excited to try the Japani Samosa (Manohar Dhaba, near Lajpat Rai electronics market) and the black dhal (Kake di Hatti near the spice market). After our tour, Ritesh went above and beyond in helping me get the eSIM for my phone. My driver guy didn’t know where to go or what to say in the shop to help with this, but Ritesh was all over it. He accompanied me to the mobile phone shop, translated and made sure I got connected."

"Gajendra really was a great host for this tour- he knew all my questions (and I ask a lot), and he kept things moving with a lot of information but also kept the pace very accessible so I left with a feeling that the experience was definitely worth the price. He also knew all the great spots for pictures and was able to get shots I would have been able to do on my own- and hopefully you can experience Pawal as your driver, that guy can navigate Delhi streets like a pro.
