"Well, now things get just a little more exciting as today I was collected by Kiran and taken out for the day on his motorbike. This was an absolute thrill for the senses as I am sure you can imagine. The traffic through the city was its usual manic self but with Kiran's calm and experienced manner totally in charge of the situation I felt as safe as could possibly be. We rode through some fairly small back streets on our way North West and quickly came upon a little fishing market where Kiran expertly guided me through. All the time telling me about the history of the place and which delicasies were on offer and as always, taking lots of photos of me and urging me to do the same. As we moved further North, crossing on ferries and stopping at various points to take photos and try different street foods and fruits I was again made to feel relaxed and at ease by Kiran's knowledge of his surroundings and his expertise on the motorbike. I was taken to a small temple near to the shore where Kiran took me in close so I could witness the words of two holy men as they went about their blessings. This was magical. On the way back into Mumbai we went to visit a few churches and watch the sunset across the waters. It was yet another day full of wonderful sights and smells and experiences. It would have been difficult for Kiran to have made anything better for me that day. And yet he did He did this by very kindly offerring to take me home to meet his wife and daughter and share some home cooked food with them. WOW! (And believe me, WOW doesn't even come close to describing how I was feeling) I was made very welcome and immediately felt at home as we talked about my day and my overall time in Mumbai. They all enjoyed my enthusiasm for the place and we're obviously very proud of the home city. As it was late I decided to take a tuk tuk ride home to my hotel and Kiran kindly came out and spoke to the driver, giving him exact directions to my hotel and even giving him his telephone number in case of any problems. A few minutes later and I was safely delivered home again. Kiran has a true passion for travel, both in his home city of Mumbai and indeed all across India. He speaks very articulately and in a way that is informative and at the same time very interesting. In meeting Kiran I was given the opportunity to have a very full and detailed tour of Mumbai. One that I shall never forget. Over the course of two quite long days I feel quite honoured to say that I have gained a truly great friend in Kiran, and his family as well, of course. I simply could not recommend Kiran any higher. He is truly an ambassador for Mumbai and all the joys it holds. I am currently planning my next visit to India as I'm writing this...!"
