"Our Culinary Kickstart Tour: Budapest with Anna was the perfect food introduction to the city. From the very beginning, she was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable but what truly made the experience stand out were the stories she shared along the way. They gave so much depth to each stop and made the tour feel personal rather than scripted. We began at the Great Market Hall, where we had our first bites of traditional snack foods and, with Anna’s help, picked out the best paprika to take home (which would have been overwhelming to do on our own). From there, we hopped on a tram to the Jewish Quarter, which added a local, everyday feel to the experience. Along the way, we enjoyed a delicious lineup of Hungarian flavors — a sausage with mustard, fresh bread, and pickled veggies paired with a Fritz, a traditional lángos that was absolutely worth the hype, and even fruit brandies made from pear and apricot. We ended with a chimney cake to take home, which was the perfect sweet finish. What really stood out was Anna’s adaptability. She was attentive to our pace and flexible with the schedule, making sure the experience felt relaxed and tailored to us. If you’re looking for a way to not only taste Budapest but truly understand it, this tour with Anna is an easy recommendation. "We had just arrived in Budapest and our guide Réka kindly came to meet us at our hotel. She is a lovely English speaking student with an interest in history. We walked around and Réka pointed out historical buildings whilst giving us an opportunity to try different local foods at traditional restaurants. We started with Pöttyös, a snack treat from Réka’s childhood which reminded us a lot of something we have in Sweden too. Then we had traditional Goulash soup, Chicken Paprikash, stuffed cabbage, mixed vegetables and local beer. There was a lot of food as we then went on to have different cakes in a beautiful café and Lángos and Palinka shot. It was a great walk with happy chatty guide Réka. We highly recommend this tour to try out the tastes of Hungary in Budapest. "
