"We spent a lovely afternoon touring St-Germain des Prés and the Latin Quarter with Isabel. As this is our 4th trip to Paris, we're familiar with the area but we wanted a closer and deeper look at unfamiliar places and fresh insights into the familiar. Isabel was perfect. She is deeply knowledgeable of the art, architecture and history of the area and gave us choices as we wandered. She pointed out the slow renovation of St. Suplice (a place we know well) and explained about the church's historic rivalry with Notre Dame, one that continues to this day. She led us to delightful small parks and sections of Jardin de Luxenbourg that were unfamiliar to us. We appreciated her insights and stories about the Sorbonne and spent time in the beautiful Eglise Sainte Genevieve taking a close-up look at small architectural details we would have missed if it weren't for she. Isabel, as an artist and a teacher, has an eye for where to stop and look closely as she tells the stories of the neighborhood.
