"Christopher led us on an afternoon tour of art and architecture in Marseille. We had some ideas of what type of places we wanted to visit and Christopher guided us to them explaining other buildings and neighborhoods in Marseille as we walked by them.
We were interested in the current art scene. Christopher having a studio in the city and being familiar with the current art scene gave us an insider’s view. We visited several galleries and Le Couvent - a community garden and artist residency development in a former convent and then to the nearby La Friche Belle de Mai. It is a former tobacco factory that has been converted into a contemporary art space.
Christopher was an engaging guide taking us to the sites we were interested in. Along the way, we ran into several of his artist friends and colleagues who complimented his work. It was rich tour that brought the current art scene to life."
"Christopher gave us a very thorough tour. We walked thru the forts in the Catalan and he explained their history and use. We also visited the mansion that Napoleon III built for his wife, but she did not want to use. We also toured other spots in the Catalan.
We toured the Old Port area and Christopher discussed the history of the port including its ancient history, as well as more recent history and the various attempts at urban renewal. He discussed notable buildings and churches.
We finished up our tour in the Pannier district and the Cathedral. He brought us to several ceramic galleries that we wanted to visit as well as a couple of art galleries that we enjoyed. He had booked us a reservation at a wonderful vegetarian restaurant for lunch.
He is an enthusiastic guide who is happy to share his knowledge and tailor the tour to our interests. It was a superb tour.

"Iseult provided exceptional service, and both our guest on the tour thoroughly enjoyed their time.
We couldn’t have asked for a better guide to show them around this beautiful city. Highly recommend her for anyone wanting to explore Marseille to the fullest! 🙌
Thank you Iseult"

An unforgettable day in Aix-en-Provence
"We booked a private tour and were completely blown away. Édouard was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly well-connected — he seemed to know everyone in town! We loved the blend of Franglais throughout the day (I speak more French than my husband, which added to the fun), and every stop felt like a hidden gem.
Highlights included the most delicious madeleines from Christophe (no line!), unforgettable nougat, cashews from Monsieur Praliné, honey, local confitures, lavender soap, and the best calissons we’ve ever tasted. Lunch at Les Gallinas was outstanding — the lamb tripe was a surprising standout — and we left with a full doggy bag and full hearts.
Édouard added just the right amount of local history and charm to make the day feel both relaxed and enriching. We truly felt like we made a new friend. Highly recommend Édouard and Withlocals for a personalized, delicious, and memorable experience in Aix!"

Amazing experience and great immersion!
"One of our most favorite things, upon coming to a new city or place, is immersing ourselves and getting to know locals in the area.
Anthony did not disappoint! He took us to many of the local hot spots, taught us so much about Marseille, and even more so... informed us about the culture and diversity. It was an experience we won't forget.
This is a tour and experience to be recommended for sure! One we not ever forget. Thank you, Anthony for such an amazing time exploring your city!"

Merci Marseille! Merci Naguib!!
"what an amazing day with Naguib. It’s always great to have someone to show you around who loves his city. Naguib was a very informative guide who showed me most of the historic places and hidden gems of Marseille. I’m sure I would’ve needed another day to see all of the sites. I never felt rushed and any questions I had Naguib answered in a very knowledgeable way. Again, I highly recommend my."

Incredible Christophe
"We booked a tour of Marseille in January with Christophe, with my mother and sister. Christophe is a wonderfully interesting, knowledgeable and kind guide. I had told him in advance that my family was celebrating two birthdays, and he included in our tour a quick stop for my mother and sister to blow their birthday candles and enjoy a local madeleine! For a fun, fascinating tour and gorgeous views of Marseille, go with Christophe.
Merci pour tout!"

"The tour with Paul was excellent. As promised, he took us to “hidden gems” in Marseille that we would never have found. The cafe we stopped for a snack was delicious. His knowledge of the history was the perfect amount. As I walk with a cane, he walked at our pace, no rushing.
He was upbeat, on time and very sociable. Prior to going, I communicated with him through the App and he always responded in a timely fashion.
I would definitely recommend Paul as your guide through Marseille."

Review about Paul
"Our tour « Highlights & Hidden Gems of Marseille » with Paul was fantastic! What a beautiful city and what a knowledge bel and thoughtful tour guide. Paul took us to Marseille’s many different quarters and gave us a taste of the various local and multicultural aspects of life you can expect to experience in marseille. All this while organizing/modifying our itinarery as he saw it fit. We really loved our visit to the old port, Noailles and le Panier. Paul brought them to life. He clearly loves what he does and he loves Marseille too! We left regretting that we did not have more time to spend in this wonderful city. This was an excursion we did while cruising. We took the Marseille’s city free shuttle and it worked for us. 10 min walk from ship to the shuttle 15 min on the bus another 15 minute walk to the old port. Straight forward and easy. "

Passionate About Au Panier
"Naguib is a graduate student, and he provided a wonderful tour of the Au Panier district. He also took us to Basilica of Notre-Dame-of-la-Garde and gave us a small taste of the more commercial part of Marseille. He spent much more time with us than he was obligated. In Au Panier, the restaurant and food establishment owners/staff were all very happy to see him. and the food in every place was outstanding. Definitely use Naguib if you want to get a great feel for the old Marseille."
